Whitcoulls Sylvia Park

Manukau no longer has one so came to Sylvia. One of the girls was super helpful and found the book I was looking for then the guy at the counter was really friendly great service despite it feeling like a sauna in the store!

I love shopping here, the staff remember my name and nashe me feel really special. They are also great with advice on books

Nice shop, well looked after, but no maps south of Waikato, and no decent cryptic crossword books.

Rude worker decided to judge my partner probably based off his ethnicity while he was looking for books for our son and asked to look in his shopping bag. Only for her to apologize to him after looking through his bag. Very annoyed I was not there but if I had been I would not have been as nice as him.

Really bad experience I had there yesterday around 6: 00pm. I was looking for couple of sparkle pen but could find them as there was some but in like 20 pen in a box. Went to a lady there she was stocking up I said “Sorry I’m disturbing you but can you help me please to find some pen ” (my exact words)
she didn’t utter a word took me where they were like two stand way from the bunch of pen that I found and hand gestures like here they are can’t you see gesture I said Thank you and she just turned away same didn’t utter a word. Just a your welcome or never mind would have worked.
Just made me feel stupid to be nice to her

I didn’t see her name tag but she was wearing glasses. If it help to train her a bit

I have always been welcomed with a friendly and helpful service in this shop but today was amazing. I was looking for books for my young son, I am not native to NZ nor is English my first language and as such I needed some inspiration and support. I have been helped by a young girl, who’s name I did not catch unfortunately but she was so helpful and passionate. I left with 6 wonderful books. The girl deserves recognition for her wonderful service. Thank you.

Lovely Asian lady works there brings awesome service. Very enjoyable to deal with her. I hope I have her name she needs a pay rise. Thanks

Would be hard to find. There are 2 entrance one is from little high street, other one is from via Queens Street Farmers

Awesome staff. Asked for books to be kept aside, couldn't make it the day after and was still there after two days. Very friendly and lovely people, good amount of stock available and wide variety

Brilliant customer service. Ian was really kind and helpful. We bought a doll house and a piece was missing, Ian was so good on the phone and in person and helped us and went beyond his ways to get us what we wanted. He exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this store 10/10.

A simple purchase, helped to find the right card section by one member of staff. Person on the till happy and engaging also, I left happy because of the combined level of service.

Friendly and well trained staff with great service. Their range is excellent considering how small the store is, especially kids fiction.

This is perfect for finding Mlp Toys. What? I did buy books there. Nice ones. Make sure you go to this store. It has a collection of Toys, Games and Books.:)

Came here looking for a book, wasn't sure which aisle to look in so went to the counter when a lovely young man pointed me into the direction, whilst he was serving another customer, he later followed me up to see if I found it, and then helped me, but unfortunately there were all sold out, he then proceeded to let me know there we a couple of other whitcoulls not to far they will have some in stock, thank you I found my book at another branch who also had very nice and pleasant people to deal with. High 5 to all staff at whitcolls, you are doing a great job.

Good selection that's finally more than just magazines as compared to the reduced city center shops. Found my favourite fiction author. I actually had to try to return a book bc I forgot I already bought it online, but they clearly show that they don't offer refunds. They do exchanges or gift cards though as an alternative, but the best part was the friendly cashier actually offered an exchange for the brand new book by the same offer that I didn't know they had. Perfect exchange.
