I have found Windowmakers great to deal with every time I have used them. My rep Rich is on his game and always knows his stuff. The Joinery itself is to a high standard and with competitive rates.

WindowMakers have always been my supplier of choice. Been an APL supplier its a great profile. It is fantastic to be able to take customers through their design center to see all the options. Great product, great service and great people. Easy process.

If you are a homeowner, use this company at your peril. It seems that if all goes fine, then it’s ok, but if they muck it up, they will not fix it. If you are a construction company and have ongoing work and outstanding payments to be made, they may treat you differently. However, they completely stuffed up our job.costing us $20k to remedy. Luckily, the last 1/3 of the bill (approx $15k) was required “upon completion”. So was left outstanding until they completed the job. That did not stop their Accounts department from sending us invoices, claiming we were contravening the Construction Contracts Act (which doesn’t apply to contracts with homeowners), and adding ever increasing interest added to try to frighten us into paying (the remaining $15k went up to $23k just with interest!). The managing director, Heidi Johnston, is a first class bully, who while refusing to come to site to see the problem, had no trouble taking us to the Building Tribunal in an attempt to recover the unpaid amount. When she didn’t like that result, she took us to court. Although we were assured by the judge in a pre trial hearing that we would undoubtedly win, she advised us to settle out of court with WM, as the costs of continuing (that we could not claim back from WM) would be higher than the amount lost in settling 50: 50. So we eventually came out, after legal costs etc, about $5k down. Their MO is to try to frighten people into paying up, regardless of whose fault it is. And it is stressful, time consuming and expensive. Take a look at nocowboys.co.nz for reviews as well.

Edit: If the MD attacked the issue as much as she attacked the person, she wouldn’t have reviews like this written about her company. Unfortunately, WM still seems to believe they can contract out of the law and the CGA, despite being told off by a judge. The glass balustrade they refer to was designed by an architect, on the plans consented by council, provided to WM and itemised on their quote. The reason I posted this review 6 yrs later is that as much as I’d like to forget about dealing them, the repercussions don’t stop. I have had to have a third party come in and fix some of their joinery, as I know they will not come to remedy their work. Given their appalling service history, I’d rather not have them on site again anyway. I think other reviewers have outlined similar experiences, so make your own judgement.

Ninety45 has used Windowmakers on various high value and complex projects over the past 4 years. Windowmakers are very knowledgeable and provide quoting in a timely manner. The product is always delivered on time, any delays well communicated and any problems are dealt with head on which is all we can ask of our suppliers. Showroom is awesome i highly recommend! If you want only 1 window or 1 sliding door then apparently they don't offer this service. We went in store and got a quote, after we got home the measurements were not right (our mistake) so we sent updated measurements asking for a new quote. We heard nothing, after following up for awhile we contacted the general email asking for an updated quote. The lady was nice and apologised and re sent a new quote. After a few minutes we got another email from her saying she was really sorry but they don't do one off doors? Very strange. Overall not the best experience and we had to keep following up. Hence the star rating based on customer service and wasting time.

We recently replaced our old wooden joinery with new beautiful double glazed joinery from WindowMakers, we received amazing design recommendations, top customer service, communication and product. Would highly recommend WindowMakers to all! What a great experience.

Always a pleasure to work with the team at windowmakers, the whole process makes it very easy for the builder and the quality and fitment is always fantastic.

I do not normally make public comments but the culmination of extremely poor quality product backed up by the worst customer experience I have received anywhere ever leaves me no choice. Window Makers Delivered the incorrect size window, Seals falling out after a couple of months, major components missing from originally delivered product that now dont match in colour the rest of the frame, Gaps through the bottom of the door when closed. Not one person has ever called to ask/enquire how they can fix the ongoing problem, we only hear from the Accounts Lady (Obvious Reasons) who I have to say was the only person in the company who was of any help and was very nice on the phone and got some action. To conclude, The Managing Director no less has threatened Debt collectors and claims I have breached the Construction Contracts Act, My rights as a Consumer have been completely ignored, we have paid the Majority of the original Balance but will not pay until our concerns have been addressed to which I am now seeking Small Claims Court Assistance. Disgraceful
