Prices are steep, I would not have ordered the orange roughy fish at the price they charge if I knew it would be a small meal on a large plate as a main.

Really nice spot and atmosphere, food is okay.but the service is hard to say.the old man served us is rather unpleasant.grumpy and unfriendly.overall experience is " am not coming here again"

Lived in the area for several year - just discovered this little gem. Lovely food, reasonable prices (we had the venison which was delicious) as was the starter, generous portions, friendly service and historic but immaculate interior decor. It they painted the sign outside would match the quality of the restaurant - it just might give the wrong impression at the moment.:)

Pak n Save budget lunches would have more quantity! 2 small pieces of fish in their fish of the day. More like 1 normal piece cut into 2, along with some potato and beans. Good quality but for the prices you pay, you don't expect to go home still hungry.

Lovely quaint place to eat for mother’s day lunch. Garlic prawns to start were delicious with a beautiful garlic sauce.the chef’s special of the day the pork belly was devine and a nice passionfruit cheesecake to end.would recommend visiting

Amazing restaurant. Food and cocktails were all delicious. Beautiful setting on the beach. The staff were amazing and very friendly. Great customer service, will definitely be back.

It's a little bit out of the way to get to buy what a beautiful restaurant. Fantastic service, amazing food and drinks list. Loved our dinner here so much. We were the last table to leave but didn't feel like we were being rushed out the door at all. Will definitely be back and highly highly recommend!

Excellent! We were welcomed inside and ushered to our booked table, offered a choice water and given time to select from the varied menu. The menu book itself is unique.quite clever. The food was very good as we cleared our plates so did the couples next to us. Make a point of visiting, it will be good.

Very good service, good food and reasonably priced, I’ll go there again any time.
Steak is spot on, cooked well with good amount of seasoning.

Nice venue with lovely views and area to sit as a group…. However… mains were very small, and whilst most of the meals were of a good standard, some were less than, and did not reflect the price. That said, I would not have left a poor review (this is the first time ever) however, I was very dissatisfied with the attitude of the staff when our group of 11 asked to pay asked to pay the bill as 4 groups. The staff were rude and irritable with us, made no effort to hide their frustration with our request, and ultimately overcharged us by $49. The venue would do well to remember that customer service, and word of mouth is the secret tor both new and returning customers.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here, with friendly and attentive service. The food is great and the location is divine. Made our special occasion even more special!

Been to Windross several times for special occasions and it’s never disappointed. This time we visited with our extended family of 6 from NZ including our 93yr patriarch and 2 cousins from Aussie.
Food was varied and all wonderful, all delivered at the same time, setting great as we could hear each other talk. Waitress was kind and considerate of our needs and efficient.
Will definitely come again

If you know you know. This is east aucklands best kept secret. The most amazing and tasties food cooked to perfection every time. Every meal so full of flavour and so delicious. The mango chicken and the veal marsala are sooo good. We can't wait for Windross lunches and dinners this summer out on the verandah or in the garden. Thank you to the owners for creating such a magical experience for food and dining. Highly recommend ️️

Went there once before a while ago, this time you can tell it’s different, the chef must changed. Not as good as before. Still quite busy though. Good location, cute settings. But the food worth 3 stars only this time.

We a party of 8 enjoyed a wonderful relaxed evening with the attentive and professional staff at Windross. The food was delicious and could not be faulted and all our plates were served at the same time which meant all present could enjoy their meals together. An excellent experience - thank you for making our special occasion memorable for all the right reasons!
