Good place for coffee and some food. Travellers make a note, if you have half a day in Auckland go to this area.

A very popular place for coffee, breakfast or lunch with a good variety menu. All the staff are friendly and attentive.
Has a great upbeat vibe especially when Jasmine is around with her cheerful exuberant energy (in btwn zooming around serving, catch her also on pigeon patrol, keeping those cheeky pigeons out).

The menu is so enticing here! You'll want to try everything. I got the magic mushrooms which was so rich and tasty (but could be a lot heavy on the cream depending on your preference) and my husband got the mushroom eggs benedict. He really enjoyed his too. The sourdough with both meals was a highlight! We also shared a lemon bar while there. Bathrooms are a little far from the restaurant but other than that a very nice space.

The fries were the bizzo son. Quite a generous portion. My Irish blood was well and happy. The short black was on point to.

Food and service was absolutely incredible the only downside is it can get extremely loud inside.

Good food and aesthetically pleasing as well.

Few bits of minor feedback (didn’t remove a star for these though)
- remove the “please wait to be seated” so customers can just grab a seat or make sure staff are being quite attentive to people waiting to be seated
- improve the water filtration system. Water tasted a bit off, and wasn’t cold
- have sharper knives, felt like I had to saw the bread every time I wanted to eat a mouthful

Great customer service and food. Not the same boring stuff you would normally get, clearly they spent time on their menu and taste!

Great cafe and wonderful experience! The plating was great/impressive/thoughtful, the drinks (latte, Earl Grey + rose water latte, cold brew) were great, and the food was awesome! The pork belly that came with the Big Breakfast was some of the best I’ve ever had (I eat a lot of pork belly; this was very meaty with the perfect amount of fat on top)!

A super busy cafe with a variety of breakfast and lunch options. I ordered the Eton today, which was a very sweet French toast and fruity option. I would only recommend this dish if you have a massive sweet tooth. (There’s also a fellow pigeon that visits the store regularly named Dave)

Always fantastic coffee and delicious, indulgent baked treats in the cabinet. A long-time favourite that I go out of my way to visit.

Good service, ambience, and coffee. Food is well presented and there is something for everyone on the menu. But since they don’t specialise in one thing, the flavour is very generic and unmemorable. I’ll come back here for the coffee but probably skip on their food.

One of the nicest cafes either I or my partner have experienced for a while. The food is tasty and beautifully presented. The omelette is especially good. The coffee (either espresso or filler) is nice. The staff are friendly and efficient. They seem to work well as a team too - I was especially impressed by a united effort in herding pigeons out of the cafe.

Honestly the food here is amazing, but every time I have been here the service hasn't been great. Today really took the cake. After standing by the cabinet for a while we decided to sit. It was only at this point that one of the staff came to tell us the seat was reserved (no sign). She then asked the manager if she could put an extra chair at another table. He said no (we were okay with this as he said it would be a H&S issue). In the end we got so exasperated we just asked him to tell us where to sit. The only options were "at the end of a table" which would have had us sitting right next to a couple trying to enjoy their brunch. We ended up just leaving because every interaction with staff felt like we were such an inconvenience to them.

I enjoyed eating here over the last five years and use to be one of my favourite cafes in Auckland. But now the quality of food has gone downhill and prices have gone crazy! How can it cost $9 for a brownie slice?

First time here. Comfy set up, we ordered Lemon Creme Brulee Hot Cake and Portobello Benedict. Absolutely delicious. Only issue I had was it was loud. Partner and I had to shout to talk to each other. But definitely visiting again

Excellent presentation as always. Big breakfast is ok. The K-pop pork was delicious. The hot cake was good, but it would’ve been a bit better if the orange was sweeter, and the passion fruit was a bit too sour, but everything else was fantastic! The berry smoothie was very good. The coffee was fabulous.

Decided to brunch for the content (lol) @winonaforevercafe in Parnell, Auckland

Highlight for me: Kumara Sourdough & Express-service in the busiest environment.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

My table got the fried chicken and the omelette. Both were excellent and were reasonably sizeable which is a plus. Also, top makes for service. One of drinks was ordered to be extra hot, on service it was not hot enough - this was immediately rectified and another drink was made (even though we requested a quick microwave). One comment would be to play some more relaxed music, we found it a bit high paced for a cafe.

We had a big group of 10 attending during peak lunch time on a Saturday and they were able to accommodate us relatively quickly! The food portions here were really generous and filling, everyone in the party was very impressed with the portions, taste and presentation of the dishes and drinks. For the price per dish of a typical brunch in Auckland, this is the best bang for buck we have gotten in recent memory!

The cabinet displays of the cakes and pastries also looked beautiful and inviting and we are looking forward to coming in next time and trying them!
