Zeke Botany / Corner38 Bar & Bistro reviews
35Awesome cocktails (especially the tiramisu martini), vibe and service, the truffle fries were sub par. Would go back for sure.
Came here for dinner the other night and our waitress seemed very frazzled. She had gotten our order wrong. Had to ask where my drink was, which was forgotten about. Seemed a bit cheeky to then have to pay for this. Food was alright. Will not be back due to customer service.
Went here for dinner on a Sunday night. I came because of the 'good' food reviews but the food we had was a little underwhelming to say the least. And for the prices like wow. The prices did not match the portions that came out. They have smaller share plates & bigger share plates so you would think they would be portioned appropriately. That was not the case. We ordered the small share $25 sticky fried chicken. Delicious but 1 person could have eaten that 'share' plate. Ordered the smoked duck Vietnamese summer rolls. Disappointing for $23, the sauce served with tasted like store bought bbq sauce. Had the Fried squid for $23. Delicious but had like 6 pieces of squid. Had the $22 sticky ribs. Enjoyed that, about 3 pieces on the plate. Most disappointing dish/es was the $40 shaky beef which is a larger share plate that consisted of about 8 pieces of beef & was served in a larger bowl but the food was only filled a little under half way. And the $27 smoked pulled duck was so bland, same sauce as the summer rolls. Others on our table ordered the ceviche coconut & lime dish & enjoyed that.truffle fries were enjoyed also & the mussels were ok one of our friends mentioned. For dessert we tried the black rice pudding. Enjoyed it but is the rice suppose to be kinda half cooked? Better if cooked all the way through if going for that pudding effect. Husband enjoyed his creme brulee. $18 for 3 small rice bowls. For my husband, son & I we ordered 3 small share plates, 2 bigger share plates, 2 desserts, 3 rice & 2 cappuccinos. Total was $250. Crazy expensive & food was average. Maybe work on the so called share portions for future patrons. We've eaten nx door at Goode brothers & spent a lil over half of what we spent here & we had leftovers to take home. Lovely service by the young ladies who served us but will not return. Pics of cappuccinos, summer rolls, shaky beef & black rice pudding.
We had such a nice dinner during the happy hour. We had duck, scallops, summer rolls and the fattest, creamiest fresh oysters I’ve had in ages. The tap beer was delish and the strawberry daq was so strong and sweet! Our waitress was also so nice, such good service. Thank you!
Came here with family and some friends and just wanted to mention how amazing Sam’s service was, she was very warm and welcoming and her bubbly personality really made the visit top tier - thank you Sam!
Can’t beat this new place. This is our new local we were looking for an intimate yet joyful experience in Botany and we found it, with top notch service and atmosphere. The food was second to none. Recommend the popping prawns and fried chicken. Staff were attentive to us throughout the night. Good job!
So this is no longer Zeke but called Corner 38.
There is something on the menu for all. The menu lends itself to sharing which is what we did with several dishes from across the menu. The beef cheek (tender as) curry was delicious with enough meat to share between 3 with rice delicious fried dumplings and friendly staff in a clean environment.
Will be back seeing as we are local
Visited on a Saturday afternoon during Easter Break. Place moderately busy. Waiters quick to seat you, onto it, attentive, polite, and good fun. Menu has a reasonable range and is competitively priced. Servings are large. We left feeling we got good value and service. We were two adults ordering only mains and drinks, and we spent $58.00. Not bad we felt.
Fantastic food, fantastic people, I have been there three times in three weeks, and very reasonable priced.
This is my new best restaurant to take visitors to.
Darryl - Botany Downs.
I wish I could give zero rating. We wait for one hour for the food and was given the wrong one. Definitely won’t come again.
Everything tasted so good, we had the spring rolls and dimsims, both tasted so good, the dipping sauce made it taste even better.
I've noticed the website doesn't show the menu they have in restaurant, so have put photos on this review, pricing wise it was good, just normal restaurant pricing.
The Bao buns also taste really good, I believe they slightly deep fry, or fry it on a pan to give it that crisp edge, but still so soft at the same time.
Lemongrass chicken on rice tasted amazing. Highly recommend this place.
The only thing that could be improved would just be the Crispy Soy Chicken, it taste perfectly crispy and soft chicken on the inside, but it does taste a bit plain, can't really taste the soy part.
Otherwise, everything taste really good, would definitely recommend if you like Vietnamese food.
I haven't tried the Brazilian they do at dinner time though.
Me and my husband love this restuarant. The food is delicious, reasonably prices, service is quick and staff is very friendly. The location is good too. We have become regular customer. Its our go to place to enjoy great food.
Discovered this place whilst walking past and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Nice cofees and the dishes full of flavours. Fried vegetarian spring rolls were tasty, one of the best spring rolls we have tried. The bun dishes are actually noodles with chicken and veges, the vaitamese dressing was amazing. Also tried the lemongrass chicken and it didnt disappoint. Overall lovelly flavours. Service was friendly and attentive. Worth a revisit soon.
We went for lunch, ordered their a few Bahn mi specials with a drink of your choice for $15. What a deal, it was very authentic. We also got the vermicelli special and it was filling and tasty. Thanks guys, will be there again.
So delicious, flavourful and fresh! Amazing price and huge portions. Definitely come for a visit!
Food was amazing, would recommend getting the smaller dishes if your the type of person who likes to try everything on the menu like myself.
Good quality resturant setting, service and authenticity. Price can be lower than or equal to the surrounding food court or resturants. Very much recommend especially the Saigon noodles. We praised the staff and they responded in kind.
Super long wait for a simple banhmi and coffee. Unfortunately when it finally came out, they were both disappointing. Banhmi is tasteless. Coffee is some cheap instant stuff. Don't recommend this place.
Amazing food with very quick service, and extremely friendly staff. Very creative take on Vietnamese and Brazilian fusion that is a must try!
A nice and clean restaurant, quality and yum food.and very friendly customer service.
Definitely come back to try out more…
