Gana Cafe reviews
40Disappointed to hear my father went in to get a bite to eat from a hard day of building, staff served two gentlemen in front of him, waiting next in line to be served, the lady looked at him and walked away. Clearly saw him and didn't return to serve him he stood there for a little while longer. With shock he left his plate of food he had grabbed out of the food cabinet and walked out. Dont know what that was about. Obviously my father felt judged in some way. Super disappointing and sad
So rude, I ordered an oat latte and it was disgusting, asked for my money back and the woman argued with me and refused me a refund and then handed me a five dollar note when I said I don’t drink other milk and want my money back. She was arguing with her customers loudly in front of a cafe full of people. Don’t go hear it’s bad quality food and terrible terrible service
Eggs Benedict: Quite underwhelming on the tastebuds. Hollandaise was tasteless, as was the sourdough, and eggs were overcooked. Bacon was delicious but not enough to salvage the entire breakfast. Partner had kumara rosti with bacon. Again the bacon was the only adequate part of the breakfast. Overcooked eggs, flavourless hollandaise, and rosti tasted like it was just a piece of fried orange kumara.
Not happy with our breakfast at all, the avocados on both of our meals were old and tasted yuck, looked like they had been frozen. The coffee was average and it just wasn’t a good experience over all.
Looked like a good selection of food on the menu, portion size of the meals we ordered was a bit on the small side.
Coffee was good.
I had the kumara rosti with eggs and bacon, spinach and pesto for breakfast on this warm rainy Saturday morning. We sat outside and watched the world go by, and a friendly little dog joined us from the next table. A lady came up to admire my meal. Coffee was good. Life is good. Thanks friendly waitress.
Coffee was nice and hot.and flavoursome. Date scone was different but tasty.nice quiet atmosphere.
Fresh food baked in store, yummy bacon and egg pie, with an awesome relish and great coffee, value for money
Used to love going to Gana so much as always had exceptional food and coffee. Went back after a long time yesterday and was underwhelmed. Very little choice for cabinet food, menu options were pushed but we were just after coffee and a small something. Ended up just getting coffee which was very nice and loved the touch of extra sweets for kids.
Empty cafe, 7.45 am, waited 15 minutes for my flat white & 25 minutes for the worst scrabbled eggs (like rubbery balls), served in a bowl. Won’t ever go here again. Awful service & food.
Ordered the blackboard special of a fresh chicken salad with hummus and chiabatta. Arrived consisting of tired mesclun, cucumber and a few cherry tomatoes halves and not nearly as exciting as the description. Also came minus the chiabatta and I don’t recall the stated hummus.
Very disappointing for a chef prepared salad and definitely not good value for money either.
I definitely expected better.
Had spinach filo and panini.unhappy with both of cabinet menus.food is just not good. Coffee isnt good enough too. One more small thing, I ordered latte and got flatwhite.
Don't know why these guys have a 4 star rating - i bought a latte that was bitter and almost undrinkable without lacing it in sugar. The iced chocolates were way better thsn their coffee making abilities.
Yummy food, relaxed atmosphere and dogs welcome in the outdoor area,
Handy central location, and close to buses on either side of the street if you’re carless like me.
My family and I love Gana. The food is excellent every time we go and the service is amazing. I highly recommend.
I come in here most days and love it. The coffee is delicious, the staff are so friendly and the vibe is just great!
Terrible! Don’t go there if you are thinking your health! Even one star too much. I bought Spanich feta filo pastry and orange cake for take away. First I found a big hair in filo pastry. Yak! Put in the rubbish bin. Not finished yet.at least i thought I had a cake and I was happy to eat my orange cake! I opened orange cake and there was a green white mould on the cake! This cake should be in the rubbish bin before you put in your buffet.food safety all over the world! I think no one watching these place
Great host.good service. Wide range of delicious food.caters for vegan.veg.gluten free great coffee. Inside / outside dining. Great place to have lunch with friends.groups catered for.service excellent. Rest room facilities.can take dog if outside. Water available. Gold card recognised. Easy reach of banks and shops.plenty of parking
Coffee ok but chips very average. Feels dark and unwelcoming. Needs a revamp very tired. Staff seemed sad, but were helpful to a point. Weren't offered water and had to ask for cutlery. Not sure I would go back again.
Had an wesome black coffe prepared by Amy. My order was impecably taken by Tash who offered a replacement for when I asked for no toast. The vegan falafel dish was delightful! Will definitely be in again:)
