Had a great late Valentine’s Day dinner. The chocolate fondue was so delicious. Thanks Ashish for your service

This was a lovely experience from the moment we arrived. We were warmly greeted, given a table with a superb view, and treated to a free glass of bubbly to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious - beautifully presented and very fresh. The staff were great - friendly, welcoming and responsive. Our waiter made an excellent wine recommendation. We'd definitely come back.

Amazing food and even better service. Ash and Leigh made our evening so special and their gestures made our evening. Thank you

I have always enjoyed my experience of High Tea at Halo and have visited many times for special occasions with family and friends. However, I was bitterly disappointed yesterday. On arrival we were told we could not sit outside which was obviously a sign of things to come! One chunky club sandwich using dry bread, tiny overcooked scone, although there was lashings of cream and jam and three small savouries. Two chocolate items each on second tier. A few small items on top tier. I don't know if they are under new management but food presentation needs to revert to its original high standard. I will certainly be changing my venue.

Food is average. Kids mac and cheese was made with penne pasta and very little cheese so my son was not at all impressed. Staff are very friendly and the location is nice.

This review is for the lunch/ brunch sitting.

More a cafe experience, as opposed to the fine dining experience.

WE. LOVE. HALO!

Not only for the interesting menu options.

Not only for the finest level of attentive wait staff.

Not only for the world class, salubrious over the water setting.

But ALSO because they now allow dogs!

YUSSSS.

Be sure not to walk in the front, hotel reception area, with your pooch. Ask first, and they will show you the side entry to bring them through

The people working were very nice and had excellent service but looking at the other reviews that are saying opposite, maybe it was because we had a large number of family dining for Grandma's birthday. I had the rump and it was too salted and we had to wait too long before our cucumber entree was out.

Was very disappointed as each meal came out.
My husband's main was stone cold and his rib eye was cut into bits not sure if it was rib eye?
Fish meal had a taste that made me sick and dessert was not enjoyable most probably due to the bad main. Won't return or recommend.

Excellent food and service. It's expensive but the views and the food make it worthwhile to try. They don't have a separate vegan and gluten free dish but they were happy to get the chef to create something and they didn't disappoint. It really was a fantastic meal.

I sent an email about the front of house service on 24-11-19 but have never received any contact hence now my review. We were kept waiting before being seated. Even though a barman saw us. One of our party ordered whiskey on the rocks accompanied by water. The whiskey arrived in a tall glass with the water in a small glass. We had to ask them to take away our empty glasses. Both food & drink orders took a long time to arrive even though there were only around 10 other people. The food & view were excellent & that is why I have given 2 stars.

Had my daughters baby shower here today. At first we were disappointed that we were not sitting where we were originally shown, which was on the lower floor with the water view. However, the service and food were amazing, right down to amazing platters for the gluten intolerant guests, and the separate plate for my pregnant daughter. Although we thought of the guests, we forgot to ask for special food for my daughter. This extra forethought was something to be applauded. The reason for the four stars was because we didn’t get the view we expected, although we still had a view, and it may have even worked better than the original spot, as we were a little separate from other diners. Well done Halo, you impressed a lot of people today - keep up the good work

I knew I should have trusted the review. Don't be fool by the website or the location. Location is definitly the strong point here. Undoubtfully being in a hotel that they at least somewhat look tidy when you first arrive. However went downhill real quick once we walked into the bar. The look on the waitress face when we said we just want to have couple of coffee and sweets. He was confused and unwelcoming as I am guessing because we are not in house guest. Trying to find a seat that was at least clean was a challenge. All the seat has white fluff on it. Too many chairs in 1 tiny table that I have to move the chairs to get into. Took too long considering it was simply tea coffee and sweets. So nothing special and so not a 4 star kind of service. Location is good tho. P s. I ve checked in advance if they open for public and answered were yes. So no reason why you wouldn't be as welcoming me and my family with your in house guest.

My wife and I and our son dined to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Entree’s were fine. The mains were not. My main was described as snapper on a prawn risotto with Scallops and spicy pickled carrot. I was served Salmon because they had run out of Snapper but didn’t have the decency to tell me and give me the option of ordering something else. The carrot was raw and not pickled or spicy. My wife’s steak was ordered to be rare - it was blue. My sons steak was ordered to be medium - it was well done. I am really disappointed - a night spoiled - the restaurant offered no real apology.

For a fine dining establishment there was a table next to us wearing sweatpants and a puffer jacket and 2 kids yet I thought I was under dressed in a tidy shirt and ironed pants.

The food however was very good and came at a decent pace but the drinks were rather slow to be served even if they were cocktails. Great servers and a very clean and tidy dining room

Hello people
I consider myself a real foodie and dine out frequently. I especially enjoy beef and lamb. Dinned here Saturday evening early. The restaurant was very quiet. The staff were extremely unenthusiastic to say the least. Drinks were delivered after a very extensive wait. Hmmm they were not busy!
I spotted wagyu beef on the menu of which was priced way lower than most other restaurants. I've had alot of experience with this beef and certainly know good from bad. Without exaggeration and with some embarrassment the wagyu was so extraordinarily tuff. I was totally in disbelief. NEVER have I attempted to eat such a poor quality wagyu. Remember.wagyu is prime quality beef. The best money can buy. I did not eat it as I was literally unable to cut it. Left the leather on the plate. Advised staff of my dissatisfaction.they were not overly concerned. Apparently the chef didn't see a problem with it. OMG are they serious. I felt embarrassed for them. To be fair they offered another meal but I was not interested. They did however exclude the cost off the account. How on earth they recieved an award for beef and land I will never know. They certainly dropped the ball on this evening. It's such a lovely place with an amazing view but hey. SORT OUT THE KITCHEN PLEASE.

Really disappointed! Received rotten potatoes on my plate that made me ill, as it smelt like vomite! Apologies were hollow as I received a bill for that meal 24 days later! How disgusting! You should be ashamed of yourself. I, friends, family and colleagues will never be back because of the poor way this unpleasant event was handled.

Had lunch here yesterday as staying at the Trinity. We were seated and then left for ages.finally got attention of a waitress to take order. Initially got water then had to ask for more.when it didn't arrive had to go ask for more. Waited for 40 minutes and then asked waiter to check how long our food would be. Said another 5 minutes. Food was actually fine.
Had to go back into restaurant to order coffees. Arrived but not as ordered. Overall a very poor standard of service. Some staff were trainees but they were standing around chatting. We did not return to the restaurant during our stay.
