Jive Cafe

Totally felt ripped off today. Ordered 2x mied grill meals, calamari and chips and fish burger meal. I looked at the prices. Fair prices when I rang to make my to go order it cost me $108.00.bummer, never again. I can understand prices have gone up but that's rediculous. Be careful famz

Had a week working locally and was recommended Jive by some local staff. I couldn’t speak more highly of them. Great friendly accomodating staff, equally great food and service. Looking forward to our next visit!

Food is best I've had in an industrial area caffee. Pies must be up with the best in the country.

Great feed here. Had the English breakfast and was pleasantly surprised at the quality for the price. Hearty serving size. The two people running the show were lovely and welcoming. Very good coffee!

They also have a selection of home made pies which look amazing! I'll definitely be back soon.

The place is well managed staff very friendly it didn't take long for our orders to arrive and the food was to die for portions were huge I had to get my moko to finish my plate?

Prompt and friendly service. Lunch was quickly served up.

Hot, piping chips, fresh, crisp salad and sizable, chicken thigh pieces with prawn, thai sauce over the top of what was a real, delicious meal.

Popular local cafe up in the industrial area in Kawerau. Go to smoko spot for the workers/truckies in the area. Simple, clean aesthetic. Good cabinet selection as well as blackboard menu. Decent availability of regular cafe drinks (iced drinks/smoothies/coffee) awesome burgers!

Had a reasonable lunch here however was not at all relaxing as every time someone came in and out of the door it slammed. As it is in an industrial area this happened many times. Would check that it was fixed before going back.

Sadly today had credit card problems which lead to a order glitch.
All sorted beautifully by management.
Always say it's not the problem but how its sorted an you came up trumps.

3 times now we have come in for lunch and both times they have got our coffee orders wrong and for come out at different times and last meal come out when the rest of our table has finished and we see still waiting on 1 meal. They need to get there systems in place.

This is my Local I go to when I'm back in kawerau.if you feel like cafe food that's decent and hearty the jive is absolutely the spot for you. Meet up spot with friends and whanau (family). Big dishes, hearty ingredients and cooked with love.

Environment is okay but what give this place 5stars are the food. They are delicious, reasonably priced and the portion is generously huge. Ordered English breakfast and cappuccino. The coffee is not bad.

Jive, under new management, continues to do a great job. Today I was part of a 12 person meeting and luncheon with each person having a main course and drink while another group lunch was being prepared and the usual busy lunchtime rush was on. My steak was deliciously tender and from what I gathered everyone enjoyed their meals while the staff handled the pressure with aplomb.

New owners since the last time I was there, same lovely food, friendly staff. Word to the wise, if you dont have a huge appetite order a half serve.

Wonderful staff. Friendly always making sure we were OK. Food is fantastic we had steak meal, loved it. Steak, salad mushroom sauce onion rings chips yummy thank you jive.

Poor to Average food, considering the pricing. And the decor left a lot to be desired. There was no Jive, just sad cafe. Really lovely staff though.

Great friendly services. Mouth watering food and excellent presentation. More than my moneys worth. Would 100% recommend, they will centain to see me again on my next travel. Keep up the excellent work!
