Omokoroa Medical Centre reviews
14My doctor is fabulous, but having to wait for 3 weeks to get a appointment is not good after all. The receptionist doesn't even care or try to get you in or ask if it's urgent. Thy are terrible. Yes and then you end up at 2 ND avenue A and E.
I 'm surprised at the other reviews. My doctor is wonderful. I have always found the receptionists polite and very helpful, as are the nurses.
Never ever become a patient here. You will be talked down to, judged before you even see a doctor, and charged 100 bucks a visit.
Hippocratic oath: FAIL
Humanity: FAIL
Customer service: FAIL
If you have loads of money that you want to throw away while surrounded by condescension, then this is the medical center for you.
They discriminate against people and if you dont drive up in a loaded car with money hanging off of you then you are not welcome as a patient or worthy of medical care.
Speaking from personal experience
Dont waste your time, energy or money here. Unless you like walking out of a drs office feeling like unwanted rubbish
They are beyond abysmal
Doctors are great, sadly the reception staff are very dismissive, nosey and think their medically qualified.they are very slow and seam to concentrate on getting into your wallet rather than your problem.
Everytime we need an appointment there is a one week wait and we have to go to 2nd Ave. The reception staff are extremely rude!
Omokoroa medical centre are more focused on money than actual service supplied. I don't have any objection to paying for a prescription but have never been charged for this on having a consultation. I went for free annual diabetes review which took no more than 10 minutes. Got a prescription for meds and got charged $19.50 (community card cost). Husband went for required medication review and due to 'a cough was not reviewed instead sent 'out the back' swabbed and sent on his way with no review. And charged $10,50 for a months supply of meds.
Doctors are amazing but there reception is absolutely horrible. So unprofessional and rude for a medical center. I think Louise is her name she makes you feel so unwelcome and like you are a burden. Tried to make a complaint and they gave me the receptions email trying to make the complaint dissapear. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.
The absence of any means of communicating with the Centre other than by phone or fax or in person during Monday to Friday working hours may be something which could be improved upon? Most medical practices have email contact available and allow out of hours voice messages to be left. There is the opportunity to change your address only via the website.
The doctors and staff at Omokoroa have been wonderful to our family. I can not recommend their service more highly
Useless. Over an hour late. Didnt tell my partner or at least call and tell us. Got other appointments to go to as well. Useless. Keep telling her it's just another 10 minutes, what 8 times. 1 hour and 20 mins behind. Not coming back here
Ordered a prescription on the recorder Thursday 10am. Went to chemist Saturday to pick it up. As usual they hadnt sent my chemist anything. This doesnt happen every time, just 9 out of 10 times
Thank you to everyone at the Omokoroa Medical Centre. Its been a rough year for me, but thankfully you have been there for me every step of the way with kindness, effective help and guidance. So once again, thank you.
Excellent service received over a 3 week period. Admin staff very efficient and welcoming to a new patient. Have been needing daily wound care and the Dr and nurses have been wonderful.
R Murphy
Shockingly unprofessional how Dr Murray Smith decided to ignore his patient, my frail elderly mother, when she called out to him to see her. We were told that he had an appointment with her and she called out to alert him that she was there. He waved them got into his car. When I went over and asked him to come and talk to her-he refused.
