Saltwater - Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar reviews
28Absolutely incredible food! The best ice cream I've ever tasted. And probably the happiest bartender I've ever seen serving great drinks.
We jad a beautiful dinner. Chose several plates and they were all delicious. We'll be back again.
Had a quick dozen oysters and two margaritas off the happy hour menu. Oysters were shucked perfectly, buttery and good!
Service great, shame our beautiful sea food is overcooked and came to the table Luke warm and like rubber.
The service was terrible from the 2 female staff we were one of two tables seated out of the entire place we were there foe 5 hours spent over 500 and struggled to get served by the waitress it was as if our presence was an inconvenience for her! I've had better service at McDonald's
First time visit ……nice seating and not too crowded when we went …. Loved to open preparation area /grill and display fridge.
Good selection of seafood which I thought was well portioned.
Waitress was at times over attentive giving impression of her being in a hurry.
Started off with oysters which were nice but sadly drowned in too much vinegar, distracting from the oyster taste and altering its consistency.
Fried calamari was the most tender I’ve ever had, which includes some internationally renown restaurants.
Sole was prepared to perfection.
Seafood linguine was equally good.
Will definitely be back ….
OUTSTANDING. We sat at the Kitchen Counter where you can witness all the food preparation. Kitchen Crew of 5, lead by Perrin as Executive Chef and Trevor as Master of the Wood Fire Pit. We had bluff oysters on the half shell, whole flounder, dry aged sirloin (medium rare), extra crispy chips, garlic bread. Perrin treated us to Kina (sea urchin) puree on toast with roasted wild mushrooms.
I have been there now three times and all have been EXCEPTIONAL.
Great Value, Terrific Cheery Wait Staff. Great pours at the bar.
I LOVE this Place! The atmosphere is fresh and beachy, just as you would hope. The food is super fresh and fantastic! When it comes to service the staff is delightful and they listen well. Overall 10/10
If you're looking for fresh wonderfully prepared seafood DO NOT GO HERE the meals are overpriced and absolute rubbish, small portions and whoever is cooking the food is absolutely butchering it all. Worst fish and chips I have ever had, on top of that we were a group of 4 and not one of us could finish our mains due to it tasting off and overall unpleasant. Waste of money and time, genuinely the first time I have left a restaurant thinking I would never go back.
I highly recommend this place the staff were very kind, polite we ordered the seafood boil 10/10 for us seriously recommend it but on that note: I would love too see scallops and lobster tails I feel like that was the only thing missing in the dish
Great waitress. Nice decor. Food terrible. Gem fish for fish and chips was soggy and tasteless.
Whole flounder was overcooked and floating in oil. I suspect it had been frozen. Beef burger was ok except for the beef patty being well overcooked hard and tasteless. A very disappointing meal. Will not go back or recommend.
Sadly no oysters available yesterday when we dined at this oyster bar. We settled for the calamari which was very over-salted.
This is the best seafood restaurant We've been to in the Bay of Plenty. Excellent food and fabulous service - we'll definitely be back.
We had a great lunch here. It was busy and atmosphere was great with some funky classic house beats playing. The place was full despite the miserable weather outside. It has a great fit out - open plan kitchen with chefs making food in front of you and they even had a girl making great cocktails to order. Colouring options for rhe lottle pnes. Def recommend it!
Finally a resturant that serves fresh delicious seafood. I feel like the Mount really needed a resturant like this. Great place to go for a family meal or date night. Highly recommend the Spanish prawn dish. Can't wait to go back!
Good products but too expensive for the size (26$ for a half baguette and 4 prawns and some lettuce) and all the waitresses looked bored and without any smile (except during payment.)! The pokebowl was really good and with a better value for money!
Overall service and atmosphere was good but food needs improvement. For example Burgers came with brioche buns which are way too sweet for meat burgers. Calamari was over cooked. Fish of the day was ordered as Hapuka but then told later that none available and offered Snapper which was small, oily and very salty with a basic salad. Mussels however were excellent.
Good location and friendly staff.
Food seemed overcooked, small meals for the price. Ran out of rice with the curry with no alternative.
We were served by Lloyd from British Columbia. He was absolutely fantastic. Would return just to enjoy him again.
Great new fish restaurant in Mount, manny fish dishes options, must try is Spanish mussels in pot, good job guys!
