The Falls Cafe

Came in for a coffee and pie and waited far to long for my order with 1 other order in queue. I would've been fine with the wait had it been busy but it was not and there where 3 staff in the kitchen leaning up against the bench chatting away. My coffee was served scolding hot to a degree where I couldnt hold the cup and had to wait another 10-15 minutes for it to get to drinking temperature.

LOts of staff off sick, waited a long time fir a coffee which staffs had forgotten to give me was not impressed definitelywont be going back! Very disappointed first time there have told family n friends not to vitit the cafe!

Fantastic setting but every time i go here, the coffee is only ever just drinkable. Haven't tried the food so can't comment on that

Nice location and reasonably priced, staff are always friendly.
They could improve on the coffee. The medium size cup could do with an extra shot as it's really a bit bland

Beautiful spot for a cafe and a lovely drive to get here and explore from here, right next to an information centre and ticket kiosk for camping, which also has public toilets.
Impressive menu and the broccoli, spinach and cheese parcel as well as mango and coconut mousse we had were both very nice. Good coffee.
Both indoor and outdoor seating, theres a ramp entrance at the back so wheelchair or mobility scooter uses would be able to have access. Our order brought out to us which is good.

Delicious food, great service. Son said the chicken burger was 'lit' My vegetable stack with homemade kumera rosti and perfectly poached eggs was mmmmmmm.

Only cafe in McLaren park and the surrouding area. Selection is large enough with good cabinet options. Muffns and scones on counter also looked quite good. Food was delivered to table in reassonable time given the time of day and busyness levels. Curly fries had a good portion sizing and nice and hot (however maybe a litte more of the tomato sauce would be good). Sticky date pudding was slightly heated and very good. On a muggy day the cafe was very stuffy maybe some AC would help with this feeling.

Lovely cafe in a lovely setting, friendly staff. Very nice after a wander around the lake and falls.

Food was good, prices reasonable. Menu could have more to choose from, but what we had was delicious. Loved the ducks waddling around the table outside.

We take special friends here as it always thrills. Wonderful trees around the lakes and picnic areas. If you want a snack and coffee the cafe is right there as well. Put aside some time, you will need it. Oh and the animal park is on the road in as well. What more could you ask?

Quick visit after a bush walk around the falls. Easy walk, beautiful setting with picnic tables along the water. Relaxing way to spend a little time in hotter weather. Cafe was lovely with a good selection of foods at reasonable prices.

Had a lovely brunch there after a couple of hours of walking the various tracks. Sat outside in glorious spring sunshine. Excellent service, prompt and friendly, muffins were absolutely scrumptious and one of the best eggs benedict I've had. Definitely recommend.

Had a beautiful view of river while having our scrumptious lunch.then the walk tracks were amazing.tranquility and alot of camping areas to choose from. I'd come here again.

We stopped at the cafe to grab coffee on the way to Tauranga. And we were surprised with McLaren Falls Information center, surroundings and cafe. Lovely people, delicious food, pretty big portions and authentic atmosphere

Came in for a hot chocolate after taking pictures in the rain. Nicest people, tastiest drinks, and the date scones were perfect. 10/10

If I could put 10 stars it would be 10! Amazing food, the vegan burger tasty and very happy that they have vegan option. Tasty coffee, and gluten free cabinet snacks available. Brilliant drive out to the Cafe, highly recommended to all tourists in the area.

Great location, really friendly staff go up most weekends with a friend and there is always something new and different to try.

Lovely staff, great food in stunning surroundings. Lost my wallet and they went to a lot of effort to get it back to me
