The Freeport Tavern & Eatery

Food was great, local musician was fantastic, service was pleasant but not very good. Very well priced though and the whole evening was worth the waiting and reordering.

Had an awesome meal at the Freeport tonight. The gluten free options were delicious. We were told there would be a wait for food, but was delivered really quickly. Great service team! We will be back for sure.

Had our work function here twice now, food is excellent and we had our own space in the pub.lots of room here, friendly staff.

Really disappointing, service was terrible, actually there was none at all. We got seated at our booked table, none of the staff acknowledged us.an had to ask for someone to take our order on 3 different occasions.

Lunch after movies made the kids holiday. Plates to big for them to finish, but a doggy bag was not an issue

We were seated as a table of seven, Drinks and meal orders were taken within 10minutes, which was awesome. But it took10 minutes! To get drinks to the table and forgot 1 drink which was a milkshake, but apparently is takes 1 hour to make! On top of that we still hadn't got any food? We had to go to the bar and order drinks as no one come to the table for an hour. We ended up getting 6 meals just over on hour after ordering. But a simple fish and chips was forgoton by the waiter and take another 25mins. Food was good, but service and attitude towards us was absolute disgusting as we were made to feel as though we were just a complaining "karen". I can recommend that you DONT come here for a friendly experience as you will be related like you have inconvenience the staff!

Nice place, great food and highlight fr the service and drink, the girl at the bar is lovely and made the drink as I want to.

Great atmosphere, the food from Freeport with Cleaver & Co is awesome, I recommend if you're in with your crew watching the game or any of the sports that they have on the big screens, grab yourselves a Pitmaster Platter and a side of the Crispy Calamari to go with your beers and you will not be disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, good variety of drinks available, loads of space with some great seating areas inside and out, definitely worth a visit.

Great place to catch up with friends good food & drinks abit under staffed though no doubt an issue from covid. The rest room's are filthy & a couple of toilets were blocked.

Popped in for dinner with the family. Good atmosphere and plenty of choice for meal options. Meals came out quickly and the brisket was delicious!

Had one of the best chicken here. The burgers are so so good. Would definitely visit again whenever I am in Tauranga.

The three of us had had a tough day yesterday what with all.the black friday sales so decided to have a nice meal at bayfair.we decided on cleaver & co, one of the fairly new restaurants and came out extremily satisfied with a fantastic meal.the staff were exelant and the three of said we would definatly visit there again.xxxxx

As an American expat, hands down the best barbecue I've had in NZ. Great atmosphere, big portions, good service. Only wish they had more of a beer selection.

Everyone at the table was very happy with their food. Service was great. We even took home a bottle of sauce. Easy recommend.

Kiaora all the way from West Auckland, wanting to Rave about the amazing food and service.but I had lost my receipt needed for my boss, quick call spoke to Tim who was able within barely 5minites, have it found and hastily emailed back to me:)

Never again! Went out for birthday celebration. Went to pl;ace order for steak oh sorry we have none.then ordered the pork belly ummm not sure if we have enough. Three of us ordered the same when it arrived we were stunned. Obviously they didnt have enough as they split the pork belly 3 ways, so for $34.00 each we had 3 very small pieces of pork each and no crackle as advertised. After complaining they decided not to charge us which was nice, but y the hell serve it in the first place if there is not enough to go around? My son went home and had weetbix after, bloody pathetic.

Absolutely recommend this place.
Tasty food and super kind staffs. Spacious area and good atmosphere.

A superb place to eat but not so much if you are a veggie, that is my opinion. The portions are sizable but more to the point the food is delicious. Well worth a visit.

We booked a first table having never tried here before and wow were we impressed! We ordered almost all of the starters everything was so well presented and delicious - we all loved the polenta fries with the truffle mascarpone - crispy chicken wings so crunchy! And the calamari all so good - only thing around the table is that needed more seasoning but happy to add that ourselves was all Delish, our mains come out looking fab - tasted next level the smoked steak and the brisket (holy moly the brisket) were absolutely delicious as was the fried chicken and pickles. Couldn’t believe we managed to squeeze in a banoffee pie but the pastry case was perfect light and crispy with dark caramel and the freshest whipped cream was great to share one between 4 after all that food we had devoured! We had a wonderful waitress who greeted us sorry can’t remember her name who was so bubbly - attentive and friendly as well as another guy maybe part owner? He explained all the dishes well and general friendly chatty was great service we felt right at home! We actually felt bad paying the first table pricing as would happily pay the full amount just really yum tasty food with friendly service, we all would highly recommend and will be back! Thankyou!

FOOD TASTE & QUALITY - 4 STARS (Great food. Happy as, no complaints. Thoroughly enjoyed it.)

PRICE - 6 STARS. This place is cheap!

We took 7 people along, and got dinners and drinks. Total cost was $240 Approx. Just a few weeks earlier, we did the same at the Fat Cow and the bill was over $500!

Good food. Incredible Value for money. Awesome table and building layout, very unique with a dual bar and partnership arrangement with another Restaurant.
