I have left my husky here multiple times with no issues. She always looks like she is having fun in the photos and they always feed her exactly what i ask her to be fed. They are very accommodating with specific requests and as long as you do your own due diligence as an owner no issues will occur. I.e annual vaccinations and vet checks for your dog, making sure you provide the correct feeding amount while your dog is in their care and any other behavioural or health concerns that kennel staff should be aware of.

I have read a lot of reviews surrounding a few who had complaints but have read many more of the positive ones which is why i will continue to use Parkavon kennels!

The staff are friendly and helpful. They know my dogs, who are greeted by name when we arrive! Staff have gone out of their way to find space for my dogs when bookings are tight. They have also accepted my dogs at very short notice in an emergency. I love seeing the photos of my guys on the Facebook page. The last 'word' goes to my big boy Rock who gets really excited as soon as we get onto Marshland Rd

The 'Good Mannners' class was just so helpful! I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Our timid puppo went from hating the lead to walking so well, among other huge improvements. We have learned so much about how she thinks and how our behaviour is interpreted by her. This has made us feel so much more confident. If you're willing to start the journey learning with your dog and can keep practicing at home, then this course is for you. Kerry and his team are so dedicated to dogs and to helping people get the best from them. I fully recommend this course.
PS: a spade is a spade with Kerry so don't take your swear jar lol. My own jar was full anyway

BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU TRUST THIS PLACE WITH YOUR DOG!
They don't even deserve 1 star. We put our 11 yr old dog in here for 2 weeks recently. He had NEVER been sick and was in perfect health according to our vet 3 days prior to going here. He was vaccinated prior to going here. Over this time, they mesaged twice saying he was really good.
They failed to inform us that they had an outbreak of kennel cough there in April. We picked him up.he had signs of kennel cough such as runny nose, horrible cough, sneezing.and was very underweight as his ribs and spine were sticking out. We took him to our vet the next day. 5 visits to our vet so far. 3 weeks on, Oden has been declared deaf due to a middle ear infection, secondary to kennel cough. Over $1000 for vet bills so far. Had a meeting with Parkavon owner, he had no care or responsibility. He said it was OUR fault our dog got sick.

Might be good for a very short term stay but be wary. I had my two dogs in for a longer stay while away and was shocked to see how much weight was lost. One of my dogs came back a lot worst than the other. His ribs and spine can be seen from a far distance and his waist has shrunken immensely and even weight off his face. I asked for the daily health check and got sent nothing but their word that he checked up fine and was feed the right amount. Which is clearly a lie considering how noticeably unhealthy he is now. This was the main issue of a few that we had. Our dogs have been in a long term stay before and I was very disappointed after seeing great reviews and family using them before. Be wary when using for a long term stay and always ask for proof of everything!

Boss has just turned 3 and has been going to Parkavon since he was 12 weeks old. He attends 1-2 times a week in the daycare and also the boarding when we go away. When I mention the word "School" to him in the mornings he gets so excited and knows where he is going. He has such a good time there and there are plenty of photos put up of how he spent his day. We have never had any issues at all, the staff are awesome, facilities are great and the on-site availability to purchase his food and toys are a plus.
So very happy.and so is Boss!

Fantastic place for all your dog needs.
Took puppy here for puppy school and learnt so much. Certainly will be going back for further obedience training
Have boarded my old dog here on many occasions, and the care and love he got there was first class.
Thanks team ParkAvon

This is my dogs review not mine.
Giday I'm Maverick. I'm a 27 week old 24kg Male Doberman. My Mum and Dad took me to Kerry because I was a bit of a handful as I had free roam of my breeders property but I was the runt of the litter and had been the family chew toy.so I was scared.and barky.and pully
Tonight I graduated.
It was so much fun I'm going to get booked in for the next level.
Oh. Dad says your owner better bring a sense of humor

I take my dog there twice a week for a half day. It's very reasonably priced and the staff are great. Barney loves playing with the other dogs and has his favourite doggie pals.
I can't take him on walks due to foot problem, so this gives him fun and exercise.

They did a great job of looking after my best friend while I was in hospital in Christchurch but I don't agree with how their costs works with no leeway.overall I found it expensive because of those costing rates.

25th Feb.

In responding to your email about my dog staying while I was in hospital, from which I was unable to leave until after 10am. I went straight to get my dog & was told since it was after 10am I had to pay for that day also. I explained the situation with your receptionist but was told that's how it works.this is what I was meaning when I said about having no leeway, I've actually got no idea what you were referring to with regards to payments. I have never heard of it. ‍️‍️‍️

My daughter's Golden Retriever goes there and is so excited to get in the door.
My daughter was away so he spent a weekend there and was really tried when we picked him up three days later so much play, so was really quite for a couple of days for his Nana, and then back into it, so I would recommend to everyone the team that work there are great

Super quick and friendly check-in. They even allowed us to change the booking in date one day earlier, despite being very full. Thanks Parkavon!

My boy is a regular here three days a week and he starts to get excited once he sees his lead go into my bag with his bag of snacks! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, while my lad crashes soon after we get home at the end of the day! I’m always comfortable leaving him knowing he’ll be well looked after. Thoroughly recommend

Our dogs have been regulars at Parkavon for over 2 years now and they are honestly the best. They make sure that the dogs have enough stimulation during the day without just allowing them to bark incessantly and stress themselves out - they have structured play time and work with their training as well, then have regular rest times so that they aren't overwhelmed, which is so important and I know not all the other daycares in town work this way (we've been elsewhere and moved for this reason).

The staff know them all by name and treat them as their own - they go above and beyond. We get photos of their days, and at Halloween and Christmas they do photo shoots and we even did secret Santa this year - it's so much more than just leaving your dog at the kennel for the day.

It's no surprise they are so popular since the dogs they look after are just so happy and well cared for, and for the most reasonable prices as well. Thanks so much, team! Don't know what we'd do without you.

Freja loves her time at Parkavon kennels, both at daycare and boarding. The staff are absolutely beautiful and make such an effort for every dog who enters their doors. When we drop Freja off we know she is in the best hands and we never have to worry. The owner Kerry has such a great love for dogs and has their very best interests at heart - he gives only the best for dogs in his care! We have been doing one on one training with Kerry which has been extremely beneficial for us and we are so grateful to have such amazing help. We are so lucky to be part of such a friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming, tight knit and caring community

We can not thank the team at Parkavon enough. Highly recommended, from day one we have felt like regulars with the friendly staff and pleasant environment. They always go out of their way to make sure our Ziggy is sorted. He loves it there and so do we. Thanks Parkavon A+
