Been using timaru spca for years the dogs come home clean and chilled that says a lot to how they are treated. Option of heated kennels is a plus in winter. Happy to recommend them
The staff were lovely and warm and welcoming and we came home with the most perfect kitten. Here's a photo of her on her blanket knitted by the SPCA volunteers!
They take good care of our fur babies aka the dog & cat. Friendly staff. Only draw back are the limited drop off and pick up times.
Always look after our dogs with such love. They seen happy to go and happy and healthy when they are picked up. They are great at following any other instructions that we may have.
I went to collect a voucher as we were told by the SPCA and all their advertisements saying the would be ready by Monday to collect. More than 1 of us had arrived and the Lady who I assume is the owner snapped at us, telling us we had arrived a day early and they weren't ready to do it.
If you advertise something is ready by a particular day, then it should be. They shouldn't be turning people away because the are not ready. Wasted time and petrol for 2 trips. A seriously unorganized place.
Great place. 10NZD per day include the food, litter and extra cuddles. My cat was there for one month so I get a good discount. SPCA carers were very friendly and I called them from overseas every 5 days and they were giving me updates about my cat. Fully recommended.
Nice clean area for the animals. All cats were friendly and very comfy in their surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff.
It was a little hard to find neutered and vaccinated kittens in Christchurch so we took a chance with the South Canterbury SPCA on the way home from Timaru. $50-$100 cheaper and a nice selection. Keeping our new family member in her box on the way home was another matter.
