Vetcall Animal Hospital

I really like this vet centre. My elderly dog has been a bit of a frequent flyer this year. I found them to be thorough, easy to contact and book with, helpful, good at explaining and offering options, friendly, and they've gone the extra mile to help.

Nice staff. But this practice is not driven by care for animals. It is driven by greed for money. They charge $35 to write a script. However to add another item they tried to charge another $35. They have made so much money from me already I refused. My new vet is happy to just charge $27.50 for the 2 item script. I have found Vetcall to be very expensive this is an example! $27.50 versus $70 for the same thing!

Excellent vets. Highly recommend for all dog and cat matters, animal lovers who generously offer great advise and care. No nonsense, highly competitive pricing. The best in Christchurch over 40 years of dog friendships I tried quite a selection. Thanks Colin & Kash

My pup has had more vet visits than most and is always excited to visit. The nurses always make a big fuss over her before she see's the vet and they are super patient with her (she has A LOT of energy). She gets grumpy with Colin when he prods and pokes, but he always manages to win her over again. I never have any issues getting her to the vet or to cooperate because of this extra care the team at Vetcall provide.

I had only just shifted to this vet practice but they made the process of transfer so easy!
They also made it a smooth process when I brought my 8 month old female kittens in, so one could have a check up and both be wormed and flea-ed.
Throughout this the vet was very professional and explained things very clearly (especially when one kitten was found with a heart murmur) which I really appreciated.
The nurses were also lovely and very gentle with treating the girls. Lily and Lulu came home and displayed no stress from the experience.
I'd definitely recommend this practice!

Excellent practice and Collins is an absolute gem. Helps my anxious cats feel more at ease and is very gentle and caring. Nurses are all very knowledgeable and lovely. They also do at home euthanasia which I really appreciate.

Did a fabulous job looking after our dog who had to have multiple teeth extractions. Very professional and very knowledgeable. Lovely receptionists.

The vets Colin and Clare both invested a lot of time researching why our pup was so underweight, and their recommendations have returned him to peak condition. We were really impressed with their commitment to his health, their follow up and their professional manner. The nursing staff are fantastic too, knowing us and our dog by name and making us feel very welcome.

We used this vet recently and needed a medication, we did not end up getting it here as the price was extreme. We went to another vet and got the medication and the consult still half the price of the medication from vetcall. The vet she was rude and we will not use this vet again.

Call up for some advice about my rabbit that was not eating.was told by this place its norm for them to do it could be that a female bunny is on heat around us.
We told the person on the phone how he was putting his head in water and not drinking and thy keeped saying he will be all right.
How wrong thy was.
2 hours after talking to this vet i rung up the 24hour vent and was told to take my bunny in right away but it was to late.
The advice thy gave ended up killing my bunny.

For years we have been taking out dogs to this vet but now we are changing to a new one.

This bit here is for the lady that was on the phones on the date of 1/3/19 between 4-7pm. You are no vet you are a murderer.

If you are going to give this vet a go i would first seek advice from other vets to.

Just on a side note for the vet you will have notes from the 24hour vet about this you are welcome to call me any time.

Only the second time I’ve written a review. I wanted a second opinion/advice for our dog while on holiday. Super grateful to Colin for his thorough exam, explanations and advice. I would switch to this clinic if we lived in Christchurch:)

Great service and a rvery reasonable charge. My cat has been spayed and I have been very happy with the procedure and after care.
I phoned many clinics and Vetcall was about half the price of some of them. Will certainly use them again.

Great clinic - the staff are all very friendly and caring. We took our cat there for several years and Colin was always fantastic - genuinely caring and always explained the reasons and pricing prior to treatment. We'd still be taking our cat there if we hadn't moved to the North island! Thanks team.

Great service looked after Mindy for years until she passed on weekend thanks to all the staff.

The vet herself was very rude and snappy when I asked her any questions like how old my adopted cat is. Didn't apply the flea treatment correctly and forgot to trim his claws as I had requested and she agreed to do.

Great people very caring with a fully equipped clinic for most problems and can do most procedures onsite fantastic staff supporting the vets very informed and helpful and reassuring when ringing for advice Top marks highly recommend using them
