No.5 Cafe & Larder reviews
33Waiting for the Tesla to charge and found a lovely cafe right next to it. Delicious ice chocolate and sausage roll with a surprise salad.
Got the feeling I was more of an inconvenience to the staff by being in the cafe rather than anywhere else so that they could carry on ignoring the cafe. Stood at the counter looking for a staff member for 3 or 4 minutes then went to a table with the group I was in and still no staff in view! Finally found someone when we went to the counter to try and order. Sadly after all that the food wasn't anything special
Had high tea for Mother's 86th Birthday. The food was absolutely fantastic and one staff member was extremely accomodating. (offering to take photos for us, which was lovely) However, high tea was at 2pm on Sunday and a staff member was mopping the floor in and around our mother. We went to pay just after 3pm and it seemed that they had cashed up and that it was a pain that we wanted to pay. If the cafe was shutting soon, then when we walked in, we should have been told that they wanted payment, before we sat down. Just felt like we were a bit rushed, having booked a couple of weeks in advance, if it was going to be an issue, we should have been advised at the time. Working in customer service myself, I get that you have bad days, but the feeling we were left with, will make me think twice about going back.
Open Mic night is really cool - great place to go and see (or perform!) local muso scene. Meals are nice, special menu for open mic, with something for everyone. Wish they had a non-Clearview rose wine though.
Had a wonderful family breakfast. Eggs Benedict enjoyed by two, just the right amount of wilted spinach. Pancakes fluffy and light and pineapple not too sweet to offset caramel sauce. Omelet jam packed full of spinach bacon and cheese and a big hit. Coffee just right! Staff friendly, efficient and welcoming. Many thanks. Our last family breakfast before kids head back to Melbourne.
Great variety and quality of food and drinks, clean facilities, great shopping, nice staff, Tesla chargers just outside, great indoor and outdoor seating, great foods from menu or display cabinet, highly recommend
Great coffee and breakfast stop near Havelock North. Flavourful dishes and generous portions. The pancakes with lashings of bacon and authentic maple syrup. Great friendly service and all powered by solar PV panel. Noice
Great food and fantastic service. Thanks for helping us hold our gathering and making it all easy
Was the perfect spot for a family Sunday brunch. Friendly service, lovely food, and a gorgeous gift shop (managed to get a good portion of my Christmas shopping done.what a relief!)
Very nice place I really want to use the mini putt with my nieces and nephews.
The food very good me and the guy from work really enjoyed it.
Very busy place. Had to sit in conference room and had finished eating before my coffee was delivered.
Play golf there every Sunday. The mist was a problem today very challenging round. Nice course
Lovely to have the support of the No. 5 team for our Send a Little Smile charity fundraiser today. Here's our team ready and waiting.
Stopped by here with my dad to get a takeaway coffee. The lady serving us didn’t look like she wanted to be there. I asked for a coffee with soy milk as I have a dairy intolerance to cows milk. Didn’t taste it until after we left, but the same lady who served us also made the coffees used normal cows milk. Waste of $5. Could not drink my coffee. Need more attention to detail. People have allergies so you need to more careful. We won’t be back.
Sausage rolls. Where's the sausage. Just a blend of vegetarian mix and curry. Tomatoes relish no sweetness just a bit tart. Needs a menu like Devine Cafe
Great place for bigger group or a catch up. We enjoyed a brunch and I honestly couldn't choose from all the nice food that was displayed. I highly recommend almond muffin and cheese scones as kids loved them. Clean bathrooms with baby change in the accessible toilet. Gift shop on the premises and golf course just outside
It's my favourite place for top quality food and coffee.the price is very reasonable too.the Barista is top notch.
Totally recommend this place!
We have eaten here a number of times and the food is consistently excellent. Try the pork burger and the calamari salad, yummy. Their pancakes are absolutely fabulous. Delicious and reasonably priced food with warm and welcoming service makes for a great breakfast, brunch and lunch experience.
As a group of 6 we were all dissapointed in our meals, they were cold under and over cooked. I have been here previously and loved it so its clearly a hit or miss.wouldn't come back again
Visited No. 5 Cafe and Larder between Hastings and Clive today and had a very enjoyable time there. The staff are absolutely lovely and totally added to the experience. Nothing was too much trouble and we were able to add or alter items to our order. They even piped Happy Birthday and popped candles on the cake, which I had overlooked. That's what I call real service.
Would call in again when in the Bay.
