Bangkok Thai Restaurant & Takeaway

We came for my husbands bday. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely waitress. The food was delicious, beautifully served. We will definitely come again.

Decent sized portions and the dishes are fresh and very tasty. The owner always goes above and beyond for the customers.

The mains were good, however when I got home - the roti which was ordered was forgotten and not placed in with the order. Was disappointing to pay extra for something that wasn't included. Make sure to check your order at the restaurant before you get home.

I have to say this is one of the most impressive Thai meals I've had. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. Great presentation too. The only let down was we could hear a tablet or some other device playing kids shows quite loud, but it did stop after a while. I have no idea where it was coming from. The seats in the booth were quite high in relation to the table so it made eating a little uncomfortable. Next time, I believe we'll sit at a normal table. The food and service was that good we'll definitely go back

Good tasty food for reasonable cost. Located near shopping center with convenience. Recommend Pad Zealand eawi and combination fried rice.

Have brought Thai from other places around Palmerston North but these guys always provide the best meals for freshness and size for price. Have never need disappointed with a takeout or delivery.

Amazing food, child friendly. Steak so soft our baby could eat it, everything cooked perfect. THANK YOU!

We ordered a small takeaway meal for two of us. It was excellent. A few weeks a go we had ordered meals for 7. This was an assortment of dishes which were great and enjoyed by all the family. This meal was delivered and Bangkok went out of their way to deliver on time. Great service thank you.

Best Thai ever! The food was lovely and reasonably priced. The restaurant ambience is great and staff friendly. The yardstick on quality thai food has just got higher ️️

Takeaway- Chicken satay noodle, crispy squid and panang curry are really nice. Service is good

Put through a take away order to pickup. I get there and they had canceled the order. I still needed dinner as it was already quite late so I ordered, their food is usually fantastic.
But it was terribly inconvenient to order again and have to wait even longer because of their mistake. All they said was sorry for the miscommunication. Nothing else to rectify the situation.
I'm disappointed in their service tonight.
The paid thai was not to their normal level, the tomyum was fantastic.

Also on top of that I have been charged twice. Yet to confirm in the morning to see if the transactions resolve.

So not the best experience with them.

Hello. To clarify your reply. I didn't say the soups too expensive and then hang up, that is rude behaviour. I was taken back by how much it totaled then clarified the price of both items and said ok we will do that. And said see you soon. So when I turned up I was surprised that it was canceled. Ryan comes to greet. I say I'm here to pick up my order pad thai and Tom yum soup medium. He's like ooooh I thought it was canceled because you said you canceled the order. I had not said on the phone that I'd canceled the order. Then i left because im on a clock to deliver an order to a customer and only had a small window to pick up dinner to feed my child, which is why then i called back to order again, so yes that ment more time from point of first ordering till receiving the order. So ofcourse i am not happy with the negligence, as when one orders food you expect it to be ready by a certain time. And now your reply to my review.your story has changed yet again. I am not impressed with how you have handled this situation. Regarding the double charge. It has been resolved, so no issues there. This has been one of the worst experiences from a restaurant.

Good food at reasonable prices. Waitress went missing for a while and missed her chance to sell us more drinks!

Food is always amazingly delicious with very generous portions. The service is friendly and polite! I highly recommend this place, go there!

Bangkok Thai Restaurant is a Palmy institution. The food is always spot on, fresh, hot and delicious. Staff are so helpful and obliging for making changes. Hands down one of my long time favourites for great eats in Palmy.

Beautifully prepared simple food, flavours were great, good portion size that was not to big.
I had the red duck curry medium with roti and satay sauce.

Popped in as from eketahuna to find closed Mondays during day owner was there and said well cook you food had platter and green chicken curry very nice fresh thanks for great service evan when clised

Absolutely delicious food and the presentation is stunning. Will definitely be coming here again.

Satay chicken veges was not at all what I expected. The Satay was too watered down, which made it a soup. Also ordered egg noodles and I was under the impression especially as the photo shows the thick noodles. These looked and tasted like 2min noodles out of a packet.
The only yummy thing was the entrie appetisers, which came with a satay sauce that was the sauce I would have loved on my chicken and veges.
I think next time, I'd rather spend more at Yeeda Sorry.

Fantastic discovery while in town. Food was fast and service was great. Penang stir fry chicken was on the button. Even better that they had Thai beers to wash it down.
