Captive bus stopover. Coffee was ok. Creamy steak and mushroom pie was more like thickened mushroom soup. Small flakes of meat, nothing big enough to chew on. Pastry thin and hard. $1.50 Budget supermarket pies would score a 10 and this a 1

Today was a different experience we wanted to eat breakfast here and have a shower as we usually do but the owner turned around and said we don’t do that I just came a few weeks ago and it wasn’t an issue I was happy to pay for the shower as I did previously he said no.

I said we’re going to have breakfast and spend more money as we usually spend about $100 when we’re there once again no I’m sorry he said

It seems like they have lots of money as they turn business away we’ve always respected the premises never left it dirty when we’ve had a shower and they’ve always previously offered the services really bad Business I would never support this business again now my son and I who is 11 have to find another place to eat And have a shower

Amazing spot to stop for a coffee/snack with kids. Very good service, Great entertainments for kids and the custard squares are so yum.

We ate at the Cafe twice over the weekend. Both visits were great. Friendly service, timely and excellent quality. Recommended highly.

What a great place! Stayed in campervan overnight on power. Showers, toilets, kitchen, lounge, wifi ALL included. Staff so helpful & friendly. Lots to see & do with kids too. Highly recommended

Standard sort of offerings of pies and sandwhich's. Well located on SH1 near Taihape. Good activities for the kids.

We stayed in one of the pods over the weekend and it was just amazing. So cozy and comfortable.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The food was awesome, especially those custard squares.
The kids had alot of fun too. There was heaps to keep them entertained for hours with toys, the maze, the bouncy castle, feeding the animals and the playgrounds. I definitely highly recommend.

No words for how amazing and helpful your staff was while I was panicking and needed help with water for my overheated car. The ladies were so nice despite me bothering them during peak lunch rush. Thank you so much legends!

Great place to park up and stay. Sparkling clean facilities, friendly helpful staff. Great food and good coffees!

Rude staf! We were regular customers there until last visit when our kid (5 years old) carried his Macca’s along. Staff were too rude to tell us off that outside food wasn’t allowed. She behaved as if we weren’t going to order any food ourselves. Three families with a five year old who brought his own food were almost yelled at by waitress just because a kid carried a bag of his burger. Such a pathetic way to treat others.
Guys you’ve lost a customer who have given you business over last ten years.
Your manager couldn’t even bother when we said we were leaving.
Another cafe down the road was more than happy to accomodate us. Flat Hills cafe never again.

Great place. We stayed at one of the wood cabins with two kids (they loved the bunk beds). Very clean and cosy. Friendly staff. They got animals to pet and feed and lots of play amenities for kids. Highly recommend!

It looked lovely but we were a bit late and the kitchen had closed for lunch. We'll try again next time we're passing through.

Great family friendly restaurant with lots of activities for everyone. Highly recommend a stop over on your journey if passing through.

Stopped in for lunch today. Had the lamb burger and a custard square. Both delicious and great value. Nice strong coffee. Well worth the stop.

We stayed overnight this weekend. Fantastic place to spend time with the family. The Pods are nice, well designed and with all the amenities as described. The staff is super friendly. The maze is a $2 coin and you can have plenty of fan. An inflatable castle and farm animals (Alpaca, pigs, rabbit, ponies, etc) kept our kids well entertained. Food was also great! Will def come back!

Dropped in for a quick lunch after bit of a shopping in taihape,
I had pulled pork.and the wife a steak Sammie both were very good, great place for the kids etc
And don’t forget ya passion fruit custard squares big filling and scrummy

We enjoyed our stay. Got to know the owners and had a good chat on the history of the cafe. Will be back with the grandkids.

Only had a caramel latte but by gosh it was yummy will be backnto sample some of the yummy baking

Great spot to stop for lunch to break up a long trip. Animals and activities keep the kids busy so that adults can eat in peace!

Friendly staff, excellent food and facilities and a lovely campground. Pets and a playground. Immaculate grounds.
