Mixx Craft Beer & Gin Bar / Mothership

I wasn't expecting much from a pub I just found around the corner from my motel but I was pleasantly surprised. Buffalo cauliflower was well cooked and perfectly seasoned with a crispy coat. A large serving for a starter. This was followed by the chicken and brie roulade with seasonal vegetables which was absolutely divine.
Will definitely look at returning if I'm back in the area.

Our dinner was perfect! Everything tastes deliciously and fantastic. Happy tummy all the way. This will be our new fave dinner spot.

Excellent range of meals & a good price range. Had excellent service by Rebecca, she was very helpful & friendly. Option of sitting outside if it’s a pleasant evening.

Food was great. Not all beers were on but you could have tasters and we all found ones we liked. Staff were really friendly and very helpful.

Unfortunately we were not impressed on this visit, Several beers were unavailable. The beer I then chose couldn’t be served because the pump line was frozen. Obviously they don’t know how to look after their craft beers. The beer I did order was OK, but nothing special.
There were also items missing from the food menu.
Absolutely no atmosphere.

Good range of beers although quite a few oyt of stock when I visited. Clean tidy, and the service was good.

Great food and service but the craft beer. What! Weirdest tasting craft beer I’ve ever had. Seriously bizarre, hoping they could stock other brands of craft beer then would definitely be back.

First night for dinner here. Excellent service, food was delicious and some very tasty flavours! Ate way too much, doggy bag provided. And still came out at an excellent price! We will be back, thank you!

The few reviews led us to expect above average food but Mothership fully exceeded our expectations. I had crispy salmon and an improved ice cream sundae, and finished off a friend's creme brule.
The salmon with salad was tasty and perfectly cooked, though smaller than I desired. Of the rest, the Arancini Ball entree was the best.
Overall, our dinner was a definite 9 out of 10. The food was excellent, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the ambience was comfortable.
For the same price as a good feed at the Whangamomona Hotel we got a proper dining experience here.

Yum! Great food, great service & nice bar. Got the ribs entree & was surprised at how huge it is. For an entree, WOW! Will definitely be back again!

Went there because my friends wanted to try the beer. We had dinner too - What a mistake that was. I ordered the mussels and they were off. I couldn't eat them cos they stank. My friends' meals were served cold and when they finally came back they were mediocre. My partner enjoyed the fillet but pretty overpriced with not many fries etc. Atmosphere was non-existent and the music was terrible. Nice service though and most staff were friendly and helpful.
Apparently the beer was great.

Lovely meal - 6 of us went & we all enjoyed our meals. The sole assistant was very friendly so we got service with a smile. Would definitely go again

Bizzaire tasting APA and IPA. The hazy was sold out. They were darker ale vs a traditional pale ale as we know it. Certainly ok to drink and buzzy. An ok attempt at craft brewing from Whanganui.

Fell victim to the warm sunshine, big thirst and inability to be sensible.
Really good Craft beer and food. Staff were great. Stumbled back to our accommodation not quite singing but a top experience.

After driving 1.5 hrs we found out there was a private function so we couldn't sit anywhere. No signs or even an apology from the bar tender.

What an awesome place atmosphere was great and also the food. I had the chilli mussels with coconut cream and white wine sauce OMG I even took some back to the motel. The boy's had an entree and the chicken carbonara and they said that was great as well. To the staff sorry I asked for my mussels early i didn't realize I had a starter until the boys told me. The food and beer was enjoyed however the service needs a huge improvement. Not a good look when the staff are rude and seemingly can’t be bothered, just want to go home attitude.

A great selection of fresh craft beers on tap and the meals are absolutely fantastic! Staff are also very friendly and helpful

Held my 30th here and couldn't fault it. Carl, Sonya and the team were awesome. The food was great and they were super easy to deal with right up to the night. Would definitely recommend as a function venue!
