When I call to order there’s no answer after several attempts, When they have picked up they cant seem to hear you. They need someone to take the calls & who speaks clearly. Other than that their sweet and sour pork is ONNNNN!

When you stop in at a busy fish & chips shop on a Monday night you know you've found something good. The crumbed Snapper was delicious. Burgers very good. Well worth the wait. Thank you

For $5.50 I got 23 chips. That’s 23 individual pieces of potato. Check before you leave. I couldn’t go back.

Don't let the storefront lack of curb appeal fool you! This place has the best fish and chips of any takeaway shop my wife and I have tried in New Zealand bar none! And we have sampled many over North and South Island over our several trips here from Canada. Shop and decor inside is Spartan but clean, staff is friendly, prices are very reasonable and as another review previously mentioned their cooking oil is fresh. The battered fish portions are huge and perfectly cooked and chips are very tasty! I would definately drive several km out of my way to come back if in the area!

Beautiful food. Took a long time to get it 50 minutes the husband was screaming at his wife in there language so couldn't understand but the vibe changed dramatically after she went very quiet.would not go back even though the food was delicious

We came through Thihape around 8: 20pm on New Year’s Day and we were happy to find a couple of places open. We decided to come to…. As they offered fish, chips and Chinese. Staff were helpful and the takeaway shop was very clean and had a lot of different options. The pictures of the burgers used in store must have been stock images and I’m glad we asked what was in them as they were all served with coleslaw instead of the normal lettuce, tomato and onion (as featured in the pictures). We ordered a fish and chip deal pack which had a great assortment of goodies, however everything was quite oily and the fish to batter ratio was quite poor. We also ordered satay chicken and egg fried rice which was probably the most disappointing as it was the most expensive and we were given the wrong order. The egg fried rice had no egg and the satay chicken was not a satay chicken. It was more like a sweet and sour chicken with vegetables. We did notice some signs stating that if orders were wrong they would be rectified, however, we were travelling through the town and by the time we noticed, the store had closed and it was unlikely that we would go back. It did make me think that wrong orders are given quite frequently because of this sign. Once we had overcome our irritation that we weren’t given what we ordered, the Chinese food was pleasant. We also ordered a Spicy black been sauce on the side and you could visually see one of the workers googling how to make it. A very subpar experience and we wouldn’t recommend.

I was taking out and it wasnt busy, so my food arrived very quickly. It was really fresh! And scrummy!
Pleasant people and place looked tidy.
Tgere are two or three tables for eating in and i was asked if I was eating in or taking away. Would go back.

Not the best food tonight no taste, no sauce in meal, usually it's very nice noodles very bland

A good, cheap meal- fish was three times the size of what we usually get at home. Huge range of food availble. Recommend walking up to new world and getting tomato sauce while you wait, those little tins just aren't enough!

I always stop here cheap food scoops of chips are big generous Kia is nice sauce not enough but new world walking distance while Kia cooking

We came here wanting to order something to eat, but I wanted to find a bathroom first. The lady there had the worst attitude towards me, and because of this, we will never go back there ever again!

The worse chow mien ever, just broccoli and big chunks of chicken, soaking in soya sauce, better to drive on.

Really good size pieces of fish. Everything cooked well. Reasonable prices. Happy campers, all 18 of us visiting from Hastings Air Cadets.

Fab crumbed fish generous size, crisp non greasy chips. Would eat here again and recommend to others, cooked to order by worth the 20 min wait.

Decided not to stay was very hot and stuffy, not a fan in sight let-alone any air-conditioning and a strange smell. Won't be back.

Service was good. Quite decent amount of food. I always get what I expected. Personally think this place is the best takeaway place in Taihape.

Possibly the worst chinese I have had - lots of noodles - only 1 vege (brocauli) no onions and an overpowering sauce. Never again

Food isn't very good but very nice people if you take it bk they will do there best to fix there mistakes and make ur food again
