St. John's Medical Centre

My friend went to this GP with gastric pain symptoms and was told she needed grievance counselling after losing her husband. Unfortunately she passed away 4 weeks later as she was riddled with cancer. Don’t go to this doctor.

Back in April i paid $59.50 via bank transfer to Dr Prakash. They failed to match it to my account and months later sent me a bill. When i tried to resolve the situation his staff were utterly nasty and abusive to me - a brain injured medical patient.
Eventually we found my payment in their system and all was resolved. BUT - just got another bill from them and the $59.50 from April has still not been credited to my account.
Dealing with his staff last time was so traumatizing for me, i cant face having to go through this again.
Good doctor and nurse, but rest of the staff are incompetent and abusive.

Dr Satya Prakash was dismissive of my symptoms and on going pain. He also insulted me about my English. It was at least unprofessional. My friends advised me not to go to him and now I understand why. Worst doctor I have ever been to.
Totally regret to have visited this clinic.

Not a good doctor, didn't listen to the patient or make any effort to help basically just pushed it through as if just an other number/money, felt totally disregarded after seaking help, definitely would not recommend and since then I have heard quite alot of other people having problems with this doctor too.the other staff are fine though.

Recommend this practice to everyone.
Always sees my children if sick even if they can't get an appointment we wait and help.
My husband has turned up bleeding from an accident and been seen and stitched up
Very caring and kind with a very humble manner.
Easy parking outside too

Lovely friendly staff, very helpful doctor. They saw my child as a new patient at short notice which shows they care about the welfare of children.

Ok went again.this time for me. Nurse was so lovely, so is the doctor! I didn't feel rushed or inferior. It was hard to find a doctor here but I'm so glad I found this place. Yay!

The only down side to this place is you can never get in when you need to. I may aswell change my GP to the hospital. I like to go to doctor to find out what's wrong with me today. Not what was wrong with me 4 days ago.

Manner can be a bit frosty, but knows his stuff, after a few visits i've come to really appreciate Dr Prakash

I've newly relocated to Whanganui thus wished to find a GP. So far I'm happy with the service from all staff from receptionist, Nurse and GP.
