The Yellow House Cafe

Just had an exceptional lunch. The lamb salad was tasty and generous with the slow cooked lamb. The beer battered fish was fresh and whole meal worked well. A great experience would absolutely recommend. Loved the atmosphere and art.

Power went out to the whole block while we were there and the staff did everything they could to make sure it experience was pleasant. The food was still delicious and they got the pickiest 7 year old in the world eating sprouts. I would give this place six stars if I could.

Awesome Cafe and would now be at the top of my list.

Absolutely delicious food. I had the lamb salad which was amazing. Great coffee. Friendly staff and the icing on the cake is it is dog friendly. We will definitely be back.

Great food, variety for all - vegetarian, vegan and whatever the other is. Good attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere.

Really great ambience in this lovely wee cafe. I side, verandah and outside seating to take advantage of the sunshine. There is cabinet food and an appealing menu. I can recommend the Spiced Egg with Hummus!

I keep coming back but it’s frustrating me. I always drink flat white made with cream and every other cafe will make it. If in doubt they either ask how to make it or warn me it’s their first attempt and do their best. The barista at Yellow House just says “we don’t do that”. End of discussion. It’s not difficult. I end up seething over my coffee. The food and surrounding is great.

Fair pricing, unique product, added extras in presentation ie: sausage roll came with lovely salad.pleasant professional staff.spot on and understandably (reputation) full on a Sunday middle of day.

Reasonable range of dishes and coffee however I found the menu difficult to read due to the colors and print used

Had a wonderful high tea to celebrate a good friends 65th birthday. Very good friendly service. Disable access was good. Will definitely use again

Had a lovely HI Tea, service was excellent, staff couldn't do enough for us. Was excellent for disabled people.with even a ramp for wheelchairs or walkers!

Pretty nice atmosphere and good food. They needed to use the So Good Barista Almond milk as the one made for me was tasting a little watered-down. I mentioned it to the Café and they appreciated the feedback.

Lovely little Cafe. I had the lamb and feta salad. It was lovely. Plenty of lamb and great dressing. Will come again.

Nice clean and warm place. Very welcoming. When I was there they were extremely busy, but was told approximately how long the wait would be on coffee's. They are very obliging and they had my coffee within the allocated time. Very impressive and the coffee was wonderful.

Absolutely best cafe in Whanganui, seriously love all the food and OMG the Peach Iced Tea was truly amazing. Definitely going back next time I'm in Whanganui

Pulled pork burger had not much flavour and was served on half burnt buns. Chips were good though. Coffee so so.

Delicious coffee and slice, especially the orange almond cake. They were super busy but kept it nicely under control. Staff very friendly and smiling, so obviously all happy in their work. Barista knew what he was doing. Only here for the weekend but already planning to return
