Up here from Invercargill when I thought I would give this place a look.
Nice to see an independent Hunting store as you do tire a bit from H&F.
This store, I found was great.
Lots of stock, in fact there was stuff everywhere. It was packed. And lots of different stuff.
Id come back here any day.
I purchased a 20litre stony creek day pack that I thought wad fairly reasonably priced.
Lots of stuff to look at and 'buy' if $$$ allows it.
Compliments to this store and I would thoroughly recommend it.
Im going to give it ️️️️️ which I don't normally do but I think it it sort of justified here.

Miles was friendly and helpful, showing us the options of pocket knives and demonstrating how they operate, and answeing our questions.
Wide range available in everything, great interior with many interesting wall hangings. Well worth calling in for a browse.

I am not from Wanganui so thought while I was here to pay Wilson’s a visit as I am in need of a new knife. Stood out of my car and a man walks up to me and says you realise this is private property, private parking? Made me feel incredibly stupid. So you see a female pull into your car park and automatically think oh she’s not supposed to be here will 100% spend my money elsewhere.

Great pricing and huge selection of firearms. Staff very knowledgeable, honest, upfront and overall helpful with selecting the best product for yourself. I'm from out of town but would definitely make a special trip to do business there again.

For hunting fishing clothing plus relevant accessories this store is one of the best in NZ. Hunting and Fishing stores are all around NZ but only carry a limited range. I'm a hunter and target shooter, as are some family members and colleagues. Wilsons have nearly all brands and calibers one could desire. It can be compared to a child in a lolly shop. Also I have never had a warranty problem in all the years I've been dealing with them. I have had warranty issues with new and used firearms from other store's.

If you do buy a product from this store be careful about how long a product will take to get back if still under warranty. Have been waiting for a scope for over 4 months to be returned and there response when i call them is not our problem just wait until we send it to you. I have asked many of times if they have contacted the overseas party but they say that there is no point as they will send it when ready. Terrible customer service wouldn't recommend to anyone who buys off them just because they are cheaper there's a reason. Stick to a bigger company and local so you don't have the who cares attitudes and what are you going to do about it like this company.

Huge range of clothing and hunting paraphernalia as well as camping tramping and fishing gear. They buy possum fur and antlers.

Well stocked shop in everything other than the kind of pocket knife I wanted. Will check it out another day.

Awesome shop, anything you need for hunting, camping etc.staff are great and extremely helpful!

The service was excellent. Bought new tramping boots.reassured if not suitable may be returned. Will wear them inside on carpet over a day or so, but feel they will be fine.

Shocked that when someone leaves a bad review about your customer service you get your staff to send them these messages!

Great products, rude staff but who cares wen it means you dont have to deal with hunting and fishing nz.

Great team of knowledgeable staff who allways go above and beyond. Actually know a lot more than just the 5 stock standards held at those horrible hunting and fishing stores. Actually know what black powder is. Highly recommended

Shop is rather small and appears overly crowded with racks. But a great range of goods with great prices and fabulous service. Good going Wilson's!
