Allan Scott Bistro reviews
29 Food was amazing.
Service was ok, missed some drinks.
Atmosphere says family friendly but staff gave the impression that children weren’t so welcome
Excellent food, service and wine. An experience you can always rely on. ***HIGHLY RECOMMENDED***
The hostess/manager and all of the staff made us feel both welcome and as if we were new friends. Food was excellent. Liked it so much we went twice.
Yesterday six of us (four adults and two young boys) had a wonderful lunch at the Alan Scott Bistro. The food was outstanding for all six meals - can highly recommend the aged steak and pork belly currently on the menu.
As a result of this wonderful experience we are organising a group to return to the Allan Scott Bistro next weekend.
Keep up the great standard of food, service and friendly atmosphere.

Fantastic birthday lunch, amazing food, wine and service, very willing attentive staff, everyone loved their dish, and staff very friendly.
Thoroughly enjoyed our entire visit. The food was next level! Extremely warm service as well. Loved it
What a team - fantastic experience from planning to finish! Gathering of 16 family and friends to celebrate a special birthday. The staff met our every need from the very friendly welcome and making sure we had everything we needed. Our group were seated in private area and the food served was incredible with meals arriving to each guest in a timely manner. The venue is very attractive and the staff were there to please - well done.
Had a fabulous lunch, the pork belly was not fatty like some are, but really tender with really crackly crackling, super delicious. The lemon tart with cooked strawberries was devine. Great meal, well done chef! Great service, lovely friendly, accomodating staff, our possie was right in front of the log fire. Wines were excellent too. A wonderful lunch experience for us and our guest.
You did Allen Scott proud and Blenheim too. Thanks Pat Daw.
Fantastic food. The rib eye is amazing melt in your mouth delicious. The beef checks are slow cooked and fall off the fork. Beautiful win and very busy but friendly staff. Absolutely worth the visit
I guess someone has to accommodate tour buses but please warn your other patrons when they book! 5 tables of tour groups meant almost zero attention from the staff and nearly an hour wait for our mains.
Flavours were lovely, however the serving size for the Hapuka was rather small for the most expensive dish on the menu.
Excellent food, service and venue. We were very well looked after, the Chef came and talked to us to answer some questions about the food and recipe. Nothing was a problem. 100 % worth the visit.
Wine, food and fantastic service made this place my favorite on the South Island. Would highly highly recommend.
Cute little place with a lovely outdoor area to enjoy a bottle of Pinot Gris. Delicious steak and pork dishes. Vegies on the side were remarkable.
Great little winery and for the end of the day fast approaching i liked how they had automatic wine dispensers of various amounts of wine to try. Great way for a busy guy during his sperm donation world tour of new zealand to quickly try a few.
Absolutely stunning location and the food is wonderful. First visit was while we biked the vineyards and we liked it so much we went back for a full lunch the next day. Highly recommended the Hapuka, Harissa Pumpkin and agria potatoes are just yummy. Of course they have the full range of Alan Scott wines so that’s just an added bonus.
We had Lunch today.
Amazing staff and the food was lovely.
We will definitely be back.
Thank you for your hospitality.
Was a busy day we kept getting forgotten about however lovely service otherwise, great options of tasting journeys and beautiful grounds.
Lovely menu choices! Good prices and very tranquil and cool terrace, even though it was a busy weekend. Unique wine tasting experience but fun!
Beautifully situated venue. I thought it was a shame that the wine tastings are now from a despenser machine. Lovely service from staff. Food was average.
Wow. What a change. Previously my favourite and went today to celebrate my 60th. Reduced menu due to reduced customers due to Covid is understandable but there is an air of lethargy that wasn't good. The food was great but service and appeal is gone. Retrieve your own curlery, order at the bar.and a confessed move away from service. Combined with other guests complaints and a plan to go more to an "outlet", the appeal of the occasion seems to have been substituted for the hunt for easy and cheap cash. I'm sadly looking for a new favourite.
