We stayed in the newest wine barrel cabin and loved it! It is such a unique place to stay that I would describe as “glamping” and very peaceful yet close to all the wineries. The bike tour company came and picked us up/ dropped us off at the cabins which was very convenient. We had a slight hiccup during our stay which was dealt with very kindly and quickly by Sebastian. Would highly recommend the cabins to all.

We loved our stay here, the hosts were very friendly and the cabin was so beautiful, lovely little touches made it very special, and the garden setting was so tranquil. Watching the sunset overlooking the hills and vineyard while listening to the birdsong was wonderful. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Can definitely highly recommend.

Nature Lovers Paradise to relax in a unique one of a kind experience. Quirky, homely and hobbit like touches makes this place magical. With all the modern amenities, a gorgeous indoor bathroom or use the outdoor shower with a view of the Hills. The property is surrounded by rolling hills, fruit and vegetable gardens. I ate the Fresh grapes and cherry tomato growing alongside my cabin. Sebastian the owner makes an excellent home made pizza from scratch. A unique one of a kind stay with modern comforts while taking in the natural beauty of this region. I highly recommend this place as there is nothing else like it. 2nd time here for us and hopefully will be a 3rd.

Great spot. We enjoyed our stay in the barrels. Very relaxing and peaceful watching the sun set and transferring to a brilliant star show at night. Very private and excellent facilities.

The wine barrel cabin was a welcome retreat after a long day of travels. I was greeted by personal touches prepared just for my stay. The cabin was comfortable and well outfitted. The grounds were lovely and a good backdrop for an evening sunset. At night, the sky was full of stars and the milky way. I highly recommend a stay at the wine barrel cabins.

My wife and I really felt like two grapes bubbling in a barrel. This is a location for the more adventurous. Sure there are no connected bathrooms to the room, but that is part of the connection to the wild side every human needs. The barrels emanated a sweetish scent, captivating any user to stay just a bit longer. Get out there and bask in the summer sun, with vineyards as far as you can see. It was nice, spending time in the sultry summer days over a bottle of wine, by the barrels. Thank you Sebastian and Kathryn!

Truly amazing place! Really recommend staying here, Sebastian and his family where lovely hosts, meeting us on arrival and showing us around. Wine Barrel "Riroriro" was equip with everything we needed, lovely handmade decorations and very cosy. Hot outdoor shower was lovely with views over the vineyards. Modern shared bathroom and fridge all easily accessible. Such a lovely experience and bird noise in the morning. A must stay!

This was a wonderful night away…with all the stress of lockdown and coming back into work, working 6 days a week. 12 hour days, I needed a place to relax and just breathe for a minute.
We had booked just going into lockdown…it was quick and easy to cancel and then rebook!
What a wonderful gift to give a friend! A+

Had a fantastic 1 night stay with Sebastian & Kathryn, amazing communication, great local suggestions and a warm welcome. Everything was spotless, lovely homely touches in the barrel and after a day of a self guided wine tour cosied up in the barrel with a board game. The bathroom is a short walk away and there is also a private outside shower and seating area, only wished it was the summer so we could utilise these! Definitely recommend a short break in the wine barrels!

We loved our stay in the Riroriro barrel. It is lovely surrounded by nature and has a barrel swing that has a cute bird nesting in the barrel. We always knocked before using it to make sure that we did not scare it. Thank you to the 2 friendly and lovely hosts Sebastian and Kathryn. We will definitely be back.

Dreamy escapade from bustling Auckland! Sitting by the barrel, soaking up the serene picturesque views with a glass of wine in hand. Tucked myself into the cozy bed very satisfied with Sebastian's lovely home made pizza! Started my new day with a crispy beautiful morning and chirpy playful fantails. Definitely coming back for more:)
