Texas Tea Bar & Grill reviews
39Didn't expect to get atitude from the barmaid just for asking if they had any drink specials or happy hour. First and last time here. Big city prices with small town service.
First time visiting, we were informed that the meal would be 40mins or more due to only one chef on that night, but we were not fazed. The young lady behind the bar was very friendly and the meal was lovely. Might be nice if the older lady (with glasses) smiled a little and was more engaging.
They need to get rid of there old menu photo. It was dissapointing not been able to get what was showing. I would suggest only showing current menus.
OMG, big ups to Lisa, the chef.
Girl, you hit it out of the ballpark.
My food was absolutely divine. If I wasn't in public, I would have licked my plate clean!
Julie, the duty manager, your customer service was on point! Thank you for an awesome meal and great service!
Visited on a Saturday for lunch. The food was very good and very fresh - excellent orange roughy. With a couple ice cold beers, outside patio, and casual yet attentive service, we were very happy with our experience
Best thing was the loaded waffle fries. Wings were actually nibbles from the smallest chicken in the pack. "Mexicana" sauce on them was just sweet chilli and honey. Lambs fry and bacon was well overcooked and with packet gravy. Took 30mins to serve extremely average food
Fabulous venue and live music in the sun
We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere customer service at the bar and everyone singing along
Always a great meal with generous portions and friendly service. The seafood chowder was loaded with seafood.
This may have been our worst experience on our entire 3 week trip in New Zealand. Shortly after taking the ferry from Wellington we found ourselves walking the area looking for anyplace where we could get some dinner, or at very least something to put in our bellies.
This wasn't the first place we came across but it was by far the worst. We walked in and saw an empty bar and a half full dining room. No one greeted us so we walked up to the bar and asked about getting a seat and ordering some food.the response we received was horrible. We had to say "excuse me" multiple times just to get their attention. They clearly weren't doing anything important but having a silly conversation amongst themselves. By the time we did receive a response from an older nasty woman that continued to talk down to us. Here is how the conversation went.
Us: Hi, what is the wait time for a table.
Her: (without looking at us) at least 45 min. Probably longer.
Us: Could we sit at the bar and get drinks and maybe some appetizers or something until something is available?
Her: You could but you won't get anything. (laughing) You know why? Because all these people were here first.
Us: Is the condescending tone really necessary?
Her: Yes, if you don't know how things work.
We don't know what we did to receive such a nasty response but if that is the way a business treats new potential customers we won't have anything to do with it. Especially in New Zealand where every where else everyone was very kind and helpful.
Waited 50mins for my burger and spilt my full beer trying to waive down the waiter who was serving the man that arrived 20mins after me his food. Needless to say it was an awful experience.
Would not bother again.should have known with pay before you dine.the staff lacked professionalism in every way but mostly in courtesy to their dinners.orders mucked up resulting in 4 dining almost separately as a group.only gave 1 star as no lower options.paid handsomely and completely let down. AVOID
I actually don't think I've ever had a more perfectly cooked scallop!
Great atmosphere.fantastic food & awesome entertainment.
Don't visit Picton without stopping in!?
Ribs were not half bad, chips are decent food in general is pretty over priced, I would avoid the buff wings, mussles were really good but really small serving. Good atmosphere in the open court yard but live music was average compared to the house playlist! Pokie odds are set way to high so bet maxis or avoid. Service was extremely poor by some staff and excellent by others.
Divine salt and pepper squid, which was presented beautifully and quickly. Service was friendly, and we sat outside enjoying the lovely Picton weather under umbrellas par-taking in a lovely chilled pink gin and soda. Great way to spend an afternoon.
Walked in to get dinner and were told that we wouldn’t be served with out IDs despite both being over 21 and we weren’t even ordering drinks, just meals. We were told to leave. As we walked out a local suggested the Thirsty Pig over the road, which was much better.
Had the buffalo wings, not spicy at all the chef was very nice though but the service, big no! I will give you a 2 because the chef was very kind! Customer service is so important. The set up is beautiful so are the locals. But holy heck I even tried to mention it to her and got laughed at as i was leaving. Treat others how you want to be treated.
What a friendly welcoming bar. Yummy food and the loveliest lady behind the bar. Debbie was so friendly and checked on us to ensure we had all we needed.
Awesome food great service loved the live music and great atmosphere so glad we choose you guy's it's a awesome place to chill
Absolutely amazing been here twice now amazing food and the best service ever.
It is the best place to grab a meal in picton
Popped in for a quick pint and early light dinner for 2. Special board advertised Lambs Fry $15.it was just the way we remembered from our childhood, so good. Came served with generous amounts of real mash potato and green peas. Garlic bread was awesome to mop up all the goodness. Got a bit excited to see it and smell it so yummy, completely forgot to take a photo, so what you see here is clean plates. Nice warm fire was a great escape from the cold wind.
