Awesome decor and vibe. Got the quesadilla and loaded chips, which were good but not great. Would suggest adding cheese (vegan?) to quesadilla, and crisping up the chips a bit more.

The food was DELICIOUS! We can't wait to stop back in here again on our way home! Staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was great!

This funky place has some of the best eats in the south Island. This is one of those vegan places that gets a little creative with their food and they make the food here look as good as it tastes!

Great, casual vegan cafe with a nice vibe and very welcoming staff. I spent the week trying out the menu and my highlight was the tumeric crepe, which is on the brunch menu (11am - 2: 30pm) but this should definitely be on the evening menu too!

This place is a must visit and see Cafe, Bar and restaurant, it is so retro and sixties hippie style inside and out side in front and the out back courtyard. Lovely and friendly staff, good menu, well setup bar, menu and drinks availability. Go in, eat, drink and be merry, and take the time to really look carefully as you will keep on finding more and more different things which will take a while, great stop.

Easily the best food I've eaten in a restaurant for a long time. All plant based with gluten free options, fresh ingredients and creative dishes with layers of flavour, it's hard to go wrong with your choice off the menu. This is a haven of deliciousness in Nelson. We will be back. This place is nice for me

It's so refreshing to have a vegan restaurant in this small town. The portions are large and delicious. I go almost every week, and I've tried nearly the whole menu. So so good!

Food was very hood. Had the stuffed mushrooms stacked on potato mash, and the impossible burger with fries. Dessert was the perky nana, it was delicious. Bit pricey, though.

It is just right place for the vegetarian, having a real burger made of 100% vege + lavender tea in the court, watching the whole piece of creative graffiti wall sometimes, all made me get into the real relaxed level

Very good food especially if you want vegetarian. Also good beers on tap. Prices are reasonable. Sometimes good live music. Good outdoor eating area. Friendly staff.

Fantastic vegan food can be hard too find even in a highly populated area which makes East St Cafe even more fantastic. The food is impeccable and drinks are well made. Definitely a favourite place.

Absolutely amazing! Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and the food is phenomenal. I had the jack fruit, tofu, and hulumi burger and it was the best vegan burger I’ve ever had!

East St cafe and restaurant is the go to place in Nelson for veggie and Vegan food. They have such a cool atmosphere. The staff are amazing and the food is even better. They make a vegan cheese cake that's better than ANY other cheesecake I have ever had. They also book cool DJs and have great dance parties! Highly reccomended

Cool menus in old album covers and delicious veggie food. My husband is gluten free and he was spoilt for choice.

Excellent little vegan restaurant, everything I've got on the menu has been fabulous but I especially like the Kimchi Pancake and the Garbanzo Fingers. Cute decor, open all day, with a bright, vibrant little patio in the back.
