Lombardi’s Ristorante reviews
41 The lettuce was soaked in too much vinegar. There was a shortage of oil. Our pastas were correct but far from Italian flavors. We received our order surprisingly quickly, which suggests that it was only heated and made in advance. The prices are definitely too high compared to the taste. Neighboring restaurants serve much tastier dishes for 2/3 of the price.
When, after this not very successful meal, we wanted to pay and leave, the gentleman from the staff started asking us about the taste. When we told him politely that we were not satisfied, he convinced us that our comment about namaz was false.
It's sometimes hard to find a quality italian restaurant, but this one is a fine one. Excellent food, fair prices, and engaging service. Great wine selection. Simple but very good. Would totally go again.
The man in the Grey hair and big hat, maybe is the owner? Terrible attitude, misogyny gone wild is what my girlfriend said.inappropriate comments, no smile and even got mad at us for taking too long to order. Will never go here again.
Not to mention terrible, overpriced food.
I loved the atmosphere and the owner that speaks with an Italian accent and his hospitality is amazing! We had the best night and we will definitely be back. I had the carbonara and it was like a hug in a plate. We started with the garlic pizza bread and wow! I complimented my meal and entree with a buttery Chardonnay and it was like a party in my mouth with every sip and taste. Highly recommend for the experience, food and atmosphere. X
Have dined here a few times and I think it’s getting better. Excellent host and such a range of excellent food. Service is excellent even when very busy. First choice for food in Nelson.
The best Italian food in the Nelson region! The owner is incredible and very welcoming, and the food was everything I was hoping for
Well priced, and good portion sizes. We will definitely be back!
We went there for dinner to celebrate Mothers' Day. The welcome was friendly and cheerful, and we were quickly seated. Nice warm fire on a chilly evening. Orders for drinks and meals were carefully taken and checked, with the ordered items on the table soon after. Everyone in the party enjoyed tasty, well-presented Italian food. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible off Trafalgar Street. Well worth a visit.
We try to ensure we eat here every time we visit Nelson. The food is excellent and so is the hospitality. It's so nice to dine at an authentic Italian restaurant, yes you have a small time to wait between courses, but this is no fastfood place. We generally take about 2hrs to eat and enjoy the company we are with. I would recommend booking to ensure a table.
Grazi mille
Delicious Italian food and the best tiramisu I’ve ever had!
Pity we live in Melbourne, Australia otherwise we would make this a regular Italian go to restaurant!
Food was excellent but the service was hit and miss, luckily waiter serving us was friendly and attentive but lady on the till could do with a lesson in basic manners. Seemed annoyed at us for splitting the bill and not a please, thanks or bye. Half our party were veggies but very limited options, just 1 pasta and 1 pizza.
Cute looking Italian place right in the centre of Nelson's city area. The menu is quite limited on the pasta - all mostly seafood. Food was okay but the service was awful.
Waiters were lovely, but the manager/owner - did not offer more than 1 chat and a smile. Asked to move an umbrella because the sun was quite warm - refused because it was over a reserved table where 3 others were already placed. Then it started to rain and he moved all the reserved tables except the unreserved and did not even offer to shift the umbrella.
Food was eaten in the rain - disappointed, especially for my first time in Nelson. Should've looked for the negative reviews first, not the positive ones.
Best italian in New Zealand. Food was delicious, and service was excellent and italian-friendly.
Although it was a little slow with receiving our menus, (it was a very busy night) the manager was very apologetic and made up for it. The food was an 11/10, absolutely perfect will definitely be returning in the future and highly recommend it to everyone else.
Most fantastic authentic Italian restaurant I've ever be too, delicious pizza that was beautifully crispy right to the middle. The pasta was to die for with extravagantly spiced Italian sausages throughout. 11/10
The food was delicious. The service was terrible. The young boy and girl that were serving acted like they wanted to be anywhere else but there. Not one smile from either of them. To be honest it was the worst service Ive ever had in a restaurant.
Excellent for a recent social event, staff and owner were very friendly. We had dinner afterwards and both food and service were fantastic.
Lovely owner. This aside, the staff are absolutely atrocious. Atmosphere is awkward due to rude and useless staff. Food absolutely below par. Worst dinner of my life.
We came in on a busy night, we were warmly greeted by the owner.
The starters were simple and delicious.
I had the fish which was beautifully prepared my partner had the steak which had a great sear on it. Wonderful experience all around. 10/10 would come again.
The old guy with grey hair (the owner) was actually quite horrible and ruined my experience there, won't be returning. Average overpriced food
We love customer service and this guy has it as well as the banter! Remembered our drinks, checked in non stop and wow the steak and pizza were both drool worthy!
Our new fave spot
Thank you!
