Sweet As Cafe

Lovely people, great food and a chilled atmosphere, Iced coffee I ordered was delish not bitter and not overly sweet The halloumi alongside my corn fritters was the probably some of the best I've had. Perfect way to start a holiday

The spinach in Eggs Benny was fresh, i.e, not wilted. It was just eggs on toast with mushrooms and sprinkle of spinach leaves. It just didn’t taste the same.
I could have ordered eggs on toast with extras and had the coffee for the same price I paid for eggs benny.
Coffee was on point though.

We have been visiting Sweet As regularly for the past two years whilst studying in Nelson. We have loved the breakfasts, lunches, sweet treats and drinks. Best of all is the lovely, friendly staff. We will miss this place.

The belgian dark hot chocolate is zen level good. As are all of the cakes, food and service. In a nice quiet spot overlooked by the cathedral, these guys have nailed it.

I’ve had a small breakfast platter n one lovely cappuccino in this wonderful café.
I love mushrooms on the platter soooooo much.
Creamy cappu also makes my day.must to try it!
Staff is so friendly n willing to answer any questions if needed.

Beautiful place. Very good attention and cordiality. We ordered a brownie with red berries and a yogurt muffin with lemon cream, plus a mokachino and hot chocolate. Excellent everything! Very rich and very fresh! I totally recommend it!

Food was nice, but very expensive for so little food. We ordered 4 drinks paid for everything and only 3 drinks came out. Staff not friendly cant even bring the food out with a smile. We went to check for the last drink they said we never ordered it so we walked out. Not long they did bring another drink but said we have to pay before we can have it. Not friendly over priced wont come here again.

Ordered 2 milkshakes (icecream, real fruit, milk) for over $6 - I think it was $6.90 each.

Was disappointed that they came out in small glasses. They were ok, but lacked flavour. They could definitely do with a little more flavouring.

This cafe was buzzing with people when we got there, especially seated outdoors. This speaks to their popularity & how good their food & drinks must be. The milkshakes just weren't to my liking and on the small side.

I would recommend that they clear the tables outside more frequently, as the birds were fighting over some food leftovers on the table, leaving cutlery on the ground which another customer picked up.

Incredible breakfast and awesome staff! The salmon Benedict was delicious with a really generous portion of salmon. I don't often leave reviews but my boyfriend and I had such a great meal at the Cafe I just had to say thanks!

Lovely atmosphere, and the staff are friendly with good service. Absolutely loved the coffee, however my husband had the Belgian hot chocolate which was a bit too sweet.

Most of the staff seemed to be trying hard, except one, who was quite rude. Food was fine. Long waits. Didn’t get everything we ordered. Wouldn’t go back if there were other options around.

It's been really good enjoyed the place.sent something back to kitchen as really dry and not nice no apology or refund.won't stop me going back.

Great service, the staff are fantastic. The food is pretty good too! Glad we stopped by on our trip to Nelson.

We had a delightful Sunday breakfast at Sweet As. Couldn’t fault the food, coffee, service or venue; and the bacon on the Eggs Benedict was easily swapped out for mushrooms.
Thank you for impressing me on my first visit - I’ll definitely be visiting again.

Exceptional coffee!
An owner/operator who after 12 years still looked so happy to be there, the majority of her team were teens they all were working hard with great attitudes.
Unfortunately I didn't try the food but the coffee was enough to make me keep returning.

Amazing customer service and the best mocha I’ve ever had! I ordered the real chocolate hot chocolate and added a coffee shot to make a real chocolate mocha. Staff had never done that before but were very careful to do it right and even checked in afterwards to ask if it was good (which it definitely was). Staff were also very accomodating of my request for alternative milk and were very friendly throughout.

Have been there both yesterday and today and both times were 10/10 for both coffee and service - best cafe in Nelson!

Four of us went for breakfast on Anzac day before we left for the airport. They were very busy and informed us of an half an hour wait, which wasn't so bad seeing how busy they were. We all had different breakfasts which were all good. Coffee was good too. Couldn't fault the place. Excellent.
