Aqua Restaurant and Bar (In the Hundertwasser Art Centre) reviews
51Waited 20min just to get the waiters attention to be seated. Overpriced and extremely underwhelming food And burned coffee. Service was horrible without a single smile or a thankyou. Avoid this tourist trap, much better options nearby around the town basin. Shame on you.
Fantastic lunch today with a seat on the terrace overlooking the waterfront. Beef salad with asian flavours was so fresh, well priced too for the area. Staff were super friendly and genuine. A great experience, I'll be back.
Place was amazing with all the quirkiness, food needs more flavor and was warm when it arrived. Will be back hopefully it will be better
Didn't like the flavor, toast was burnt food was lacking. Third time here and something always changes and prices are to high.
Not the best for lunch - food lacking flavour and quite pricey. Not able to finish hot drink as no flavour
Best coffee I have tasted in a while, lovely and creamy. The building is amazing and I would highly recommend visiting.
On the upside, staff were attentive and helpful, awesome decor, great air con on a hot night. Food was average, all plates we saw and had, were large meat portions with vegetables garnish ie pork dish was advertised with creamed spinach, there was a dessert spoon full. You need to order vegetable sides for a balanced meal. Flavours were ok but nothing special. Wine list is good. Main concern was not following covid rules, staff masks being pulled down by front of mask to speak to diners, definitely no distance between tables, very crowded. They did scan passports diligently. We won’t go back until pandemic settles but wish them well.
Had a lovely lunch outside enjoying the view. Really enjoyed the fresh flavours. The service was fast and friendly. Lovely restaurant and ambience, worth looking around. You can even pop up for a coffee and Danish. Visit the toilets to enjoy the artwork.
Visited one evening with friends. Friendly helpful staff, delicious food & wine. Balmy summer evening & lovely eating on the terrace!
Very average and the menu differs to what you actually get.
I ordered the Turkish Pide and this is what I got (pictured)
Definitely not a Pide.more like a chicken sandwich on Turkish bread ️
Mum ordered the liver and was told it was cooked in a creamy sauce, it came out in a jus
.
Underwhelmed
Average at best.eggs bene, toast burnt and eggs not fully cooked. Tiny rasher of bacon added for $7.
Unlikely to return
Five of us went for lunch, was ok not outstanding, was expecting more after great reviews. However, just a heads up, DO NOT order the beef salad, was a massive plate of boring coleslaw with a few bits of inedible beef squares, very tough, presentation unappealing, They did reduce the price on our comments which was great, but over $30 for coleslaw was not worth it. I had the lamb salad and that was nice.
My family had a really nice brunch here! The menu is pretty inclusive with lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. I forgot to take a photo of my meal for the review but I got the vegan spiced mushroom dish and it was so nice! I also had fries with vegan aioli and a flat white with oat milk - also really good! The service was a little chaotic being very busy and a relatively new cafe, so even the staff are still learning what the menu items are - but everyone was super friendly.
Portion sizes were very small given the price, some of the dishes were bland. Iced coffee was delicious, plenty gluten and dairy free options.
The attention to detail is unmatched, service absolutely impeccable, cocktails 20/10.the flavors, colour and portion size will definitely bring me back for more, absolutely wonderful dining experience with wonderful indoor/outdoor seating options overlooking the marina.
Awesome place, friendly staff but the food was expensive especially for a below average lunch. Coffee just one size and only warm.
Was told when we rang up that there were no tables available until 8pm and they close at 11, turned up at 10: 30 to find out they apparently close between 8 and 9pm. Walked about 5km to get here.
Lovely service, good coffee, tasty food and beautiful location.
Only niggle was the buffalo mozzarella felt expensive for what is was (
maybe include toast in the price?) also there are much tastier tomatoes available locally at the moment.maybe a new supplier.
Staff were friendly, and gave good service, nice setting, differently Auckland prices though, , meals etc are over priced
I was disappointed with our dinner after hearing so many positive reviews. The menu had a lot of options including vege & vegan, and our mains were quite nice but really not worth the price. All 3 deserts were underwhelming. Service wasn't bad, but the front of house maitre'd type man was pretty off-hand. I might return for a snack one day, but definitely not dinner.
