Very good discounts but I think they put on 200% before they advertise 60% off. Got same brand and vacuum cleaner half their discounted price in Auckland. Disgusted

All i can say about this place were Briscoes is it has alot of handy stuff in this shop at affordable prices that are really handy for your kitchen as well as the bathroom and everywhere else in the house you mite need

This store is very overpriced. I wouldn't buy anything here that wasn't on sale, but even the sale prices I find high.

We purchased a duvet cover that was supposed to be a linen and cotton blend. It is very thin and not very well made. Buttons are too far apart, so your duvet shows through the bottom.
It's simply not worth $450 (that's an estimate of it's full price). In my opinion it's not worth the $170 we paid for it.
The bag it came in was thick and soft which is what we were expecting. The duvet cover that was inside was nothing like the bag. My fault as I should have checked.

With the exception of the really high price duvet covers, none of them were of particularly high quality. I found most of them, in our budget, to be of poor quality. I'm not prepared to spend $800 on bed linens. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would and that's their right.

Since I've never been in this store, we decided to have a look around. Almost everything we looked at was very overpriced. I am aware that in NZ, we have to pay higher prices for goods that need to be shipped here. What I don't get is why it seems that stores really take advantage of this. I would guess that retail stores mark up their goods as high as 100%. Then they have half off sales trying to make it look like you're getting a good deal. When in reality you're paying full retail prices.

It's another example of how they take advantage of the hard working Kiwis. This relates to not only Briscoes but most retail stores as well.

Also, we are an agricultural country yet we pay some of the highest prices for food of anywhere I've lived or visited. It's sad.
I can buy NZ lamb and honey cheaper oversees than I can here. Please tell me what sense that makes? Kiwis are some of the hardest working people I know of and I hate seeing them being overcharged for things.

I've gotten off track with this review, I apologize for that. I just felt like it needed to be said. Briscoes isn't responsible for the price issues in NZ.

On a positive note the people who work at Briscoes are very professional and nice. I didn't need to ask for any help, but I could tell they would have been happy to lend a hand. The store was clean and pretty tidy. I know how easy it is to have retail stores get messy. This wasn't the case when we were there.

I really wish there was more manufacturing done here so we weren't so reliant on imports.

Too expensive and over priced for example I wanted to purchase a thermometer for heating up milk for an Expresso $32. Else where I purchased one for half that price, also bed sheets briscoes charge $69 Kamart $16 conclusion best to shop elsewhere.

Did not have one product I needed. Another product I wanted was more expensive than other places so did not purchase.

Nice stuff but be careful to only buy stuff on discount. Most things will be discounted over the course of a month.

Really easy to get what you need.click and collect is a little awkward when yr wife keeps her surname and yr collecting or her behalf.

Lovely place to stop. Coffee and hot chocolate lovely, great service. Clean. Does vegan, gluten free as well.

Well Briscoes is where I bought a double walled travel mug for my son in laws birthday. It was a winner. He lives it because it kept his coffee hot fir the three quarter of an hour drive to town.
So thanks Briscoes for the quality.

Yeah, pretty good place to go to. Everything is set out in a tidy way so easy to find things. Service at the checkout was great. No complaints.

Catch the sales when they're on otherwise products can be pricey when comparing to Spotlight, Warehouse and especially K-Mart. But some great products in store and worth a look.

Great custmomer service, safety conscious also. Staff made mention about how to safely secure the umbrella I was buying, though I had already recognised this was needed. Very friendly service.
