Cafe Narnia reviews
65Food was fabulous, but our food took nearly 25 minutes to come out. There was only 3 other customers that came in after us.
Ordered a large wedges with advertised with cheese and sour cream. Was $14, not that large and barely a sprinkling of cheese is a generous description. Rip off. Coffee was good but expensive
Our go to place when visiting Whangarei. We love it because the food, the coffee and the service is consistently excellent. Add a quirky atmosphere which makes you feel at home and it's a total winner
Excellent WiFi. Super overpriced even compared to the riverfront cafes next to the museums. Stingy portions. $26.50 for a vegetarian benny that is $18.50 on the riverfront. That’s what I get for trying to support a local small business off the beaten track.
Prices are up there. Got a Mince and Cheese Pie for 11$ but I was surprised that it came with afew extras. But unlike many other cafes, the Sauce and the salad and the pie was a really good combo of flavours like someone actually thought about it, rather then just added extras to justify a higher price.
Atmosphere was abit loud and hard to move around, but otherwise it's very clean, tables are sturdy (wobbly tables are annoying), everyone's nice. Everything was nice
Our coffee & hot chocolates were delicious. Food was very pricey so just had a very yummy muffin.
Did coffee here only + disappointedly bland Altura not recommended. Also dearest encountered locally. Service was quick for busy Saturday morning. Ambience with poor lighting not help as also difficulty with parking. Yellow lines everywhere with meagre few spots a walk up the road away. Seats comfortable + wifi available.
We arrived right on closing time but they very kindly made us coffee. Lovey people. Thank you.
The diligent and friendly staff work well together, providing service in a timely manner. The atmosphere is, "local".
From the elderly gentleman who stood to open the door for another patron, to the ebb and flow of people from all walks within the community, you can see its a place to enjoy coffee and home made pastries.
A small but flexible menu at reasonable prices. I recommend.
This place has potential, if they invested some money into the decor and really went all in on the Narnia theme, This would be an attraction all on its own. The food is good for the price, the portions are more than generous. Having a cafe that isn’t in a metro type setting is a bonus. The owners are so hardworking and they should be proud of what they offer to the community.
The coffee and tea were good. I found the scrambled eggs and toast too dry. The hash brown was too greasy. Tomatoes cooked well.
We had a delicious lunch here with superb coffee. I would also recommend having an afghan biscuit with your coffee as they are excellently made.
Cafe Narnia is an awesome spot to eat in Whangarei, has awesome coffee, food and beautiful service. We came here to eat twice while on holiday and were really impressed. Definitely my go to when we come back!
First time I've been there will go again.
Love that it's out of the way yet still in a busy part of town
Best cafe in Whangarei hands down. Coffee is consistently great, their cakes are just delicious (their gluten free carrot cake melts in your mouth!). Moreover, whenever you need your coffee fix, they’re ALWAYS there. Christmas day? Open. New Year’s? Open. But what blew my mind is in the middle of the latest storm/cyclone when everything was shut down, they were open so people suffering power cuts could come and enjoy some warmth and coffee ️️ just amazing
Okay I made my way here with a friend who frequents it a lot. I was a bit skeptical but alas, wow like walking through a mysterious wardrobe I was magically transported to a wonderful Cafe. We walked into a fairly large Cafe with extra seating in a side room. Tables were very nice in 2 and 4 tops. Great place to meet up and have a conversation with friends or for business. We were greeted with a smile by the barista and front ladies. They took our order and we found seats. Coffee came out quickly and then our food. Hot and ready. My omlette was very good, bacon, tomatoes and onion. With a side of toast and a small salad. Overall excellent experience. If find yourself wandering/driving in Whangarei with hungry peeps take a trip to Narnia. You will not be disappointed!
(Forgot pics but trustme it looked as good as this review sounded)
The food was excellent and the service is very friendly. The atmosphere inside is very inviting with nice couches to sit on if you choose. We had the Mexican Eggs breakfast and it was a fun treat to eat with your hands.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, we had special requirements and they very graciously obliged.thankyou so much
. Beautiful food, excellent cappuccino's very friendly staff. Great value for my kiwi dollar.
We thought there may more references to Narnia however food was all good a little pricey for what it was but was handy while passing though Whangarei. Friendly staff
