Container cafe

The World famous Container Cafe in the middle of absolutely nowhere on the way up and back from Cape Reianga.
Fantastic big home made onsite pies and great coffee. These guys roast their own beans.

Great spot to stop off after watching the sunrise at Cape Reinga. The homemade pies are some of the best I've tasted in NZ. Great coffee and friendly staff

The Best MINCE AND CHEESE PIE I have ever had. It was so tasty omg I wish I had ordered more to bring home.
The real fruit ice creams were so yummy.

Such delicious savory pies & hamburgers. And the ice cream (with real berries!) was soooooo tasty. If it wasn't at the end of the world I would definitely come back!

Don't ever judge a place by looks! Never had a pineapple fritter.why did I even order dinner? It just needed some ice cream.

Stopped here with a group on a tour from aus.hands down the best ice cream ever! Boysenberry was BEAUTIFUL!

Pleasant roadside stop. Delicious fresh berry ice cream and pies. However, no toilets available.

Ice creams are nice. Not sure about the lining up in a carpark is acceptable. Constantly having to watch for cars coming in to park up.

Brilliant, been there twice so far, awesome pies and the best ice creams ever, well done team.

Pies are yumm! Good resting spot on the drive thru & coffee was a good pick me up. Had the big brekkie pie with hash brown, bacon, tomato, eggs n baked beans. Family had the paua pie which was creamy & seasoned just right:)

On the way to Cap Reinga, we stopped for lunch to try the famous pies, great surprise! We tried the butter chicken, mince cheese and paua pies and a blueberry ice cream, and loved it. The paua is more expensive but not more tasty, I would definitely recommend you the mince one instead.

Stopped for a fresh fruit icecream, delighted to find fresh produce available, too - including avocados. Yum.

What can I say? It's like finding an oasis in the desert.unexpectedly nice to be driving along and you see this!

OMG, Best seafood pie by far anywhere in NZ, crammed with seafood and and a delicious pastry, oh and the coffee was spot on.
Wish I had brought some to take home? ️ ️

Sorry to say the Coffee was disgusting.
We had mince and cheese Pies- the pastry was excellent but unfortunately the filling was watery, tasteless mince.

So good to pull into this place today. Great pies, fresh sandwiches, hot coffee and awesome ice cream. A one stop shop and beautiful customer service.

Stop and get yourself a Paua Pie, it's the best pie in the north and you will never find another like it, from the pastry to the fillings, there's not an ingredient wasted here!
