Diggers Restaurant, RSA-Russell reviews
18What a great place to pop in and have a drink and a bit to eat. The sign said visitors welcome and the certainly mean it. We were made very welcome by the bar tender and the chefs. A great place for food and a drink, thanks for your hospitality.
Amazing meal with my sister and grand niece
Lauren, thankyou for a wonderful meal. Sooo delicious, steak & mushrooms cooked to perfection. Hope to see you and your team, when I re-visit Russell
Amongst all the surrounding fine dining the RSA hosts a friendly group of staff that will serve you the same beer at half the price and an awesome, honest traditional dinner that doesn’t disappoint. Do stop in.
Amazing dinner. Highlight was Fat Oysters. Massive and tasty. Lovely vibe. Friendly staff. Cheap drinks.

Very friendly and cozy. Fireplace lit at night. Good quantity of food for low price
Quality food for a good price and great service! The staff are friendly and quite quick especially with how busy it can get, delicious food, would recommend if you need affordable and tasty for the family!
If you ever go to Russell I highly recommend you stop in at the RSA for a few cold ones and the food is so delicious, Ihad a steak meal for dinner and you wont be disappointed it was worth the money spend. The staff are friendly and very helpful and I will definately take my family there again
Had a great time dined here 3 days in a row. Good food, service and pricng very welcoming atmosphere with Graham behind the bar. You will not be disapointed if you want value for money.
Cool haven, great company.
This amenity is nicely back from the beach and just beyond 'main drag'. A quiet, spacious place to slow down, have a nice drink, some nibbles and chill time - alone ir with your group, or some local companionship.
Full kitchen services Friday and Saturday only. A small, courteous, pleasant team will make you welcome, and will seek to meet your every simple need.
Arrived for dinner wasn't very welcoming bar man rude.went to order some dinner at bar and told to move away from bar so we left and went else we're been to a lot of RSA this was a bad experience which was sad
The food is amazing here. Definitely the best in town. I had the works burger and it was just stacked up. Struggled to eat all of it.
Excellent venue. We were there pre lunch for the Country and Western so did not use the restaurant.
Great atmosphere with good food and great drink selection. Pool table is in good nic. Really enjoyed my night here
Great community place to have a drink, eat some food and even a boogie. RSA's all around the country need your support otherwise they will be lost for good and another part of the NZ historic heritage gone.
A bit tired and run down inside, nice outdoor area, very limited menu, and they had sold out of fish, (1 of 4 menu items) but the food was great!
We were looked after perfectly by the locals and treated with fresh fish, chips and salad. Would recommend to those wanting a friendly welcoming atmosphere.
Duty manger very friendly. Barman seem flustered taking my meal orders couldn't keep his consintrantation on my needs trying to multitask. Meals nice but not enough choice. Paihia RSA rates higher in my mind.
It says family friendly but there’s nothing to entertain kids.
Food was good though the staff is not really friendly and waiting time quite long, especially when with kids.
