Riverside Cafe reviews
46Nice place. Ex Rivas pizzas i think. Had the eggs bene with bacon and key lime tart. The bene was good for $20. The key lime tart was a disappointment. Like cheese cake filler with lime flavouring.
Lots of choices and tasty menu.
Ample space but parking here might be tricky during peak time or season.
Really enjoyed our breakfast at Riverside cafe yesterday. We were really impressed with the delightful positive staff and the care taken with the presentation of our meals. Looked good and tasted good.
Tasty hot food served quickly, all staff were friendly. Keep on doing.what you doing, you're doing it well.
I always love coming here, so I recommended it to my family for brunch. I rang at 8am and booked a table for 15 for 10am no problems. I then invited another 2 people, and staff were happy to pop another table on for us. It remained cafe-style (order and pay, food delivered as ready), which helped keep the bill separate. The service was really great, with staff constantly clearing used dishes. Water is self-service, but they did fill a few bottles for the table to start. No loud music meant we could talk comfortably too. My eggs bene and long black were great, and everyone else seemed to enjoy what they had, but the kiwi breakfast might not have been big enough for my farmer uncle
Had cabinet food. Tasteless egg and bacon croissant with dried discolored salad on the side. Sat at table with a previous patrons dishes, half of them cleared away when our food bought out. Worst iced coffee ever, warm and nasty with no ice, with powdered vanilla and coffe, milk with canned cream on top and charge a premium. Expensive for quality received. 1 star for environment.
I don't know why it came up with one star. I set it at five, I've been a regular there since I can't remember.

Great place to have breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Fast service.
Best Egg Benedict and ice coffee
Very busy ran off their feet when we were there but the food was very good. I had the club sandwich and that was a good size and delicious. Vegan cupcake was enjoyed by the ms,
Lovely outlook. A good selection of gluten free and dairy free foods and very yummy spicy chai latee
Service was slow, it was very busy at the time. We waited in a long queue to order coffee and then a good 15 minutes later it arrived, only for it to be incorrect. Two baristas were frantic and unfortunately my coffee was one of the worst I've ever had, it was terrible. I wouldn't even call it luke warm, and the burnt kind of taste was like the machine needed a good clean.
Disappointed
Great cafe in a fabulous location and setting what with the marina and Hundertwasser building-museum right next door. The food and drinks menu is very good, service is great and friendly and quality of food was first class, very happy with our brunch and coffee.
Love the setting. Had been to other cafes here but not this one, thought we would give it a go for a change.big mistake!
Husband ordered big breakfast.was great!
I ordered waffles with maple syrup & cream.waffles were inedible, hard & tasted probably like the taste of cardboard. The 'maple syrup' was in fact golden syrup.yuk! Never a substitute for maple but I didn't realise until after I had poured it over the waffles.
To top it off.hot choc was lukewarm. Will go back to our usual cafe at The Basin in future.
I just have coffees and they are great! The food looks nice but it's a bit pricey for me.
They have really stepped it up a notch! Wafflles, nachoes, coffee, baked beans.all amazing! Thank you
10/10 friendly staff. Had breakfast here this morning and it was such a nice welcoming vibe, thankyou! Food was nice and iced coffee was delicious. Will return in future.
The chicken salad was not bad but the garlic bread was meh. Service is non-existent as everything is self service. Waitress won't acknowledge you.
Very disappointed in this place. The customer service was one of the worst i have received. The lady at the counter spoke down to me as if i was stupid. I ordered at the counter the fish (for my partner) and some chips, i then ordered myself a vegan mudcake, she asked me if i wanted cream or yogurt on the side, considering this was a vegan mudcake i asked her if the cream or yogurt was vegan too because i would say no if they wernt, to which she replied in a horrible scarcastic tone "what? ! Its cream, you know.cream, normal dairy cream, and the yogurt is well yogurt, plain yogurt.what kind of question is that? ! " And screws up her face as if im an idiot, So i just said "ok neither thank you" i then proceeded with my order and she suddenly says in a very rude tone "are you vegan? I thought vegans didnt even eat meat? ! ", i then said "what? " And she suddenly scoffed loudly and very rudly and goes "ugh never mind! " I then had to explain to her that the fish etc was not for me. She was obviously not very open to people's dietry requirements and very judgmental, My partner also said his fish wasnt very good and was very dry. I dont usually post reviews but the way i was spoken to and treated when i was being nothing but kind to her (believe me i know what customer service can be like) was not ok, she acted as if i was stupid and she was very judgmental.the last thing i need while 7 months pregnant. Will not be back.
Partner said surprise him so I ordered us a lovely chicken quinoa salad. And we loved it. Charlie loved people watching. He loved being here with plenty of room to stretch out and not be in the way of anyone. Good coffee too ?
A nice selection of both menu and cabinet food. Right in the town basin next to the hundertwasser Art centre. Staff are pleasant and service was quick.
