Always worth a pop in. Went in looking at car batteries. Walked out with fish bait, a potatoe masher, a under water line light haha. Nice staff.

I purchased an 8 x 5 tilt ramped trailer w/900 cage from Save Barn. Paid for it with C/C. Went out to load up and saw deck had waves all thru it so I put ramp down and walked onto deck. Deck popped with every step.total garbage. No animal would ever walk onto this brand comfortably with deck giving way, nor would I feel safe driving my expensive quad onto it. Mgr had me see other trailers and they were all poorly made and the same. I looked under and no supports under carriage making it flexible. I asked for money back as this was not acceptable. $2999 and I was told they could not reverse charges to my c/c and I had to produce bank account #. My name on acct (which was the same as my c/c.drivers license. I had to jump thru hoops to get my money returned.and they would send to their accounts dept to get a refund returned to me. I was not allowed to call accounts myself. You can only talk to salesman/Mgr. July 8th was sale.money didn't show up until 2 emails later from me asking for funds.came thru on the 12th. Shame on you Save Barn for selling inferior trailers and for holding customers money without doing reversal on the spot. $3k is a lot of money! I will never buy from your store again and will certainly tell others. Road Chief trailers are poorly made and shame on you for carrying that brand. I was told I was the "only" one who ever complained. HA! What a joke.

Had a problem with their courier Fluway Whangarei who I would not recommend. Hope from customer service was very helpful and processed my refund to the best of her ability considering how bad Fliway Whangarei is at communicating

Bought a trailer with all possible extras in December 2022. The ball lock safety pin fell apart due to poor workmanship. Luckily I found it on the driveway, haven't uses the trailer much.
I go to the Whangarei branch and John looks at me when I show him the part and says, Yeah nah, they have plenty of those at Repo for ten bucks. I say, hey man this is a warranty issue. Sorry, John says I don't have parts here. This pin is 100% crucial to the safety of this trailer. You have failed and I will spread the word

Enquired about Road Chief 8x5 single axle trailer 6 wks ago after relative recommended, paid deposit and arranged a pickup date complete with 2 top bars and custom made vinyl cover and solid ramp at rear. All ready at 8am on collection day, having loaded half way up cage incl 20 odd heavy plant pots and gardening equipment, I drove 660kms to Bulls, hardly noticing it behind. Given I took care with balance loading, only felt it slightly on a bump in road. So gd I scored a speeding ticket 14 kms from destination, my in-attention due to great tow.

Really good store. If you plan to buy something from this place go last week of the month or 31st of the month. They will give you good offer or talk you in base of well customer relationship. Instead, if you go on next month you will get everything opposite way and when you speak to the sales man (Not everyone) he will say " Have a Great day".
For me I just gone to buy a dryer it was 31st of last month the gentle man offer me the free delivery asap and he told he will try to give the day itself. We were really happy to take same day and he was really customer oriented. Unfortunately stock was not available. So he agreed to get on next friday (1st of month).
Then i went on friday to their store and the other gentleman checked the dryer and its already arrived in their store. When i spoke to him, he was totally refused the previous sales mans information and he told that it will take minimum of 10 days or more to deliver even if you pay (i am living around 2km from store). I can understand same day is not possible. I was ready to wait 3-4 days and he didn't ask to me even. Moreover he don't want to change that delivery days from 10 days i think. The pont if you wait 5 days you can get directly from the company itself. It was really wonder for me a sales persons not interested to sell the items. Finally i disappointed and just came out from store.

Was looking at buying a hammock. Sat on one to try it out, only to be told by a staff member that I need to get off as “they actually want to sell it one day” insinuating that I was overweight for it at my 80kg.there were no signs and other people were trying things out but for some reason I was not allowed to according to this older man. We were then followed around the store as though we were criminals, I think this is because we are farmers and were dressed as such. It’s a shame as we were looking at spending quite a lot of money at save barn today but after this interaction I’ll never be shopping here again. Very poor service

Hi becareful as this company sells things that don't match the specifications on packaging and good luck trying to get a refund and not to mention the bad service from some of the staff

WARNING. They advertise products that are either out of stock or not available. Is it to get you into a store to sell you something else? Its a long drive for us to go into town to buy a item only to find "save" barn had actually cost us fuel at $2.98 a litre traveling 70ks to discover the "IN STOCK" on their website is simply either a lie or laziness to update their website. Either way, they can't be trusted. We contacted them to vent the spleen and got offered a discount of $4.45.in postage. Most serious businesses who VALUE their customers would have sent it freight free? Not this mob.
We declined. They are thankfully not the only game in town.

I have felt with this company for a good while now and have found them to be great to deal with.
I was supplied with an incorrect product for my trailer. Supplied by them.
When I swaped the product for the correct one I was given a gift card instead of a refund. Gutted.

I brought universal motorcycle paddock stand. The stand was well made but wouldn't lift my bike. (no possible way to test beforehand without taking home and assembling the stand.) When I returned the product in new saleable condition I was shown their refund policy which said they would only refund if the item was damaged. The stand was 'unfit for purpose' according to the consumers guarantee act, but I was only offered a gift card instead of a refund, and unfortunately even that was given begrudgingly. Save Barn should step up and should have offered a full refund, just like other stores.

I have had two bad experiences in the whangarei branch in the past 10 days. Staff need better customer service skills. Apparently we were told they can only do a credit up to one hundred dollars in a transaction as a refund if the goods do not work. So you have to wait for a new item to be ordered. Will not go there after the second time.

This is the second bad experience I have had at this store. They ordered in a product for me, great they new I was not a resident of whangarei (150km round trip from my place) but I had to go to on a certain day, today. I recieved a phone call from them last week saying it had arrived and explain that I wouldn't be over there till today whilst driving over I missed a phone call. When I got there they said sorry we sold it we tried to ring you. Second time for bad service won5 bother going there again and if anyone asks me won't recommend them.

Bought an ATV trailer from Save Barn Whangarei $380. They only had the display one available. Staff member who served me (a man) told me that it was no different than what I would have got in a box. Woman there told me she could order one in box for me and it would come next week. I told them I'd take the display one if it was no different than boxed one. When I went to pay the guy took $5 off price as it had been on display. I never asked him to do that. Get it home and find it has two different wheel rim sizes on it 15cm and 16cm. Wife rings back and she is told she can bring it back next week for replacement when new stock arrives. Assistant manager rings today. Tells me we cannot bring it back. Tells me that as I bought a display model it has no warranty. Says she was there when I bought it (she was next to the till when I paid but not privy to any conversations with the staff member outside). Then astonishingly she lies and says she told me there was no warranty when I bought it. Outright lie. Boy that was good for the blood pressure! Why would I have taken it with no warranty? Then argues about the wrong wheel sizes. Told me there was not enough air in one wheel. I will never deal with Save Barn again. No customer service. Rude. Lie to customers face. Stick your wheel up your Axxse. I will get a pair from Super Cheap.

One of my favorite shops for an imported bargain.the quality isn't always tippey top but then the prices are always low, there are real bargains to be had if you hunt.

Another option for 'Big boy toys'. Have bought my hubby quite a few bits and pieces from here. Reasonably priced too.

My favourite discount store in Whangarei, the prices are some of the best I have ever seen and staff are really friendly, if your into discounts then this is the store to go to
