Been there often. Great food, service, ambience and "sunset over the bay" views. Date night with my happy wife and happy life.

Excellent breakfast - salmon eggs Benedict and a perfect 3 egg omelette. Exceeded my expectations in every way. Highly recommend as the breakfast spot to head for if you take the first ferries over from Paihia (before the cruise ships descend on the Bay).

We were at this wonderful place for a 50th. It was beautiful having our drinks and finger foods out on the deck by the water watching the sunset. The best part of our experience was the staff. They all went above and beyond especially Gagan. The atmosphere was relaxed and the care and attention we got was appreciated. I would highly recommend eating here at your next visit.

Totally amazing and awesome food! Pan-seared snapper and everything else on the plate cooked to perfection. So much so that I brought another 8 people to the restaurant that evening and 4 of them had the same dish and agreed. You can't eat in Russell without eating here.

Wow, what an incredible dining experience I have just had. Started the day at Seaside, Café Restaurant & Bar, Russell.

What an amazing place, right on the waterfront, million dollar views, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, lovely background music, the sounds of perfect kāwhe being made, orders been taken, guests chatting, scrumptious kai and perfect kāwhe.

My kai was absolutely delicious, kāwhe perfect, reboot smoothie & mango lassi well made. I loved the peacefulness of the place. It was a perfect start to an absolutely stunning sunny day in Russell.

You definitely should stop by for either breakfast, lunch, or dinner, when staying or visiting Russell, I'm glad I did.

I agree with basically everyone else, this is a nice cafe worth visiting when you're over in Russell. The coffee and food was really good, coupled with great service and a chilled, open seafront vibe.

Awesome restaurant with exceptional service & friendly staff. They went above & beyond to make our dining experience one to remember which is why we went there two nights in a row. Cocktails were amazing with delicious food to match. Would highly recommend.

We were a bit unsure about Seaside as there was no one else there and the Marlborough Hotel next door was full. We ended up having a fantastic meal and by the time we left it was full. The Pina Colada was excellent and huge.

Went there for dinner on 3 December 2022 for my birthday. I ordered lame Shank and it was amazing loved it. My husband ordered a beef meal Not sure of the name of it but Could have done with more mint sauce. Other than that he really really liked the meal. The service was great and they were very friendly thank you again for making my night memorable.

Delicious. I had the salmon Rosti and Hubby had the Seafarers breakfast. The presentation and taste were absolutely Devine. Possibly one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had. Friendly staff who coped well with an influx of people. Definitely a 5 star Cafe.

Quick friendly service at this popular little cafe, located right on the waterfront in Russell. Lovely chill atmosphere, comfortable seating and well laid out. Enjoyed the scenic slideshow and café music. 9/10.

Mum had Tandoori Spiced Lamb Rack entrée and the size was big enough for a main. Lamb on the drier side but tasty and just the right amount of spice. Mint yoghurt coulis was fresh and creamy to compliment the lamb perfectly as was the Tomato and jalapeno chutney. 7/10.

Brother enjoyed the Steak main which was cooked perfectly to his liking (med-rare), juicy and tender. The truffle mash was a creamy treat and the basil pesto was a nice touch. The crispy polenta went down a treat. 8/10.

Daughter had the southern fried chicken entrée which was crispy, tender and had great flavour. Coleslaw was fresh and the siracha mayo was a nice creamy touch. Huge serving with the fries, enough for a big main. She also had the salt & pepper calamari entrée which was delicious, fresh, hot and tasty. She scored both an even 8.5/10.

I had the spring roll entrée which was just right, fresh, crispy and well presented. All dishes were well presented actually. 7/10.

My highlight was the Baileys Crème Catalana which was the perfect end to the meal, creamy, sweet and pleasing to the eye and taste buds. 9/10.

Drinks and smoothies were made very well.

All in all an excellent experience and a nice way to spend our time in Russell today. Will definitely be back next time we're in town.

Great food and wonderful staff. We had the chicken, scallops and bao sandwiches. We couldn’t decide what was the best because it was all so good. The location is the cherry on top.

Stunning location and lovely service. The menu is so varied but the food we ordered was delicious, well presented and generous across the board. We had initially wanted to splash out on Duke of Marlborough hotel but the terrible service thankfully out us off and allowed us to try out this gem instead. Thanks so much!

We stopped here by chance for lunch on Saturday of waitangi weekend, not once were we asked for vaccine passports and were told to seat ourselves, very average service as werent greeted for starters and had to ask ourselves what the fish today was. Obviously very understaffed (which could make a difference) for a busy Saturday lunch time and the venue itself was pretty messy and disappointing. Our entrees were all ok but the burgers are not worth the price here unfortunately as the steak burger was bland and very very over cooked. Unfortunately we won’t be making a stop back here next time.
Also not once did we see tables and chairs sanitized between patrons.
