Shiraz Indian Restaurant Kamo reviews
38 Highly recommended Indian restaurant in Whangarei.
Very good food with good service.
Best Mango Lassi and Samosa Chana in town. If you haven't tried this you missed great tasting food.
Service was amazing, food was awesome. Best experience I've had in a long while. 10 out of 10. Well done!
Shiraz Indian Restaurant in Kamo is an absolute gem! Their food is simply divine, with a rich blend of spices that tantalize the taste buds. Not only is their food delicious, but the staff is friendly and welcoming, creating a comfortable atmosphere for all customers. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area who is looking for an exceptional dining experience.
Last night my family and I ate out at the Shiraz Indian restaurant. We were welcomed by a very lovely kind waiter who I must say is very good and a A+ on being a good peoples person making sure we were taken care of the whole time we were there. As for the food just WOW, absolutely delicious. It does not look like much as it comes out but I definitely walk away full and satisfied. Thank you Shiraz, we will see you again.
Delicious Indian food! We have ordered here a handful of times and always had a great experience. Tasty food, prepared quickly and large portions.
Oh the most delicious Indian food I have had for a long time. Authentic.tasty.and we will be back and will bring friends. Highly recommend
Very expensive, terrible quality food. Chicken dry and stringy. Sauce tasted like it came out of a soup can. Reading some of the glowing reviews, I can only assume those folk have never eaten in a decent Indian restaurant.
Great surroundings, very polite, friendly and attentive staff. The whole of meal experience was great. Look forward to trying new dishes and explore new spices and tastes. Highly recommend this authentic taste of India and will definitely encourage friends and family to visit.
I feel ripped off. Flavourless waterlike curry. Half cooked rice and dry chicken breast. Horrible experience worst curry of my life and not cheap either! Would not recommend and will not be going back. Complete Waste of money.
I did not like the food. The rice had seeds in it. The Samosas were small and overly priced. I won't be going to this restaurant again. So expensive and so not worth it.
Absolutely superb! One of the best Indian meals we've had in a long time. My Methi was so good I wanted to lick the bowl (awesome to find such a great veggie option) and Andy's CTM was apparently 'up there with the very best'. Really authentic, delicious food with such lovely, friendly service- even on a quiet weekday evening- I can't recommend this place highly enough.
It was my first time at this Restaurant, The staff were absolutely wonderful.
They explained what each dish was.
The staff were so helpful. Courteous, smiling. Answering questions was amazing.
They also do takeaways
We just decided to try the vegetarian, wow well presented, looked so delicious.
I definitely going back.
Thank you again to the staff.
Its friday night, but where do you go for an nice evening meal? Shiraz of course; in Kamo, on Kamo Road. We love walking in off the street to have our favourite dishes. Onion Bhaji for Entree, then steamed rice with Beautiful Butter Chicken, Luscious Lamb Korma and Gorgeous Garlic Naan with a glass of bottled Kingfisher beer. The owners of Shiraz are always friendly.
I ordered a chicken curry (Shiraz’s speciality chicken dish) from their Kamo restaurant.
The chicken was tough and tasted like it had been reheated twice or they used very old chicken.
I was disappointed because I have had better meals from their restaurant in town.
I told the lady at the counter when paying. But she was not interested.
I will not be going back to Shiraz in Kamo ever again.
Visiting family in Whangarei we got recommended this place.
First off communication was not the best as we placed an order online for 5.45pm pick up and they had just received the order when we got there at 5.47pm.
They made the food for us with 25/30 minutes and service by the 2 young boys at the till was alright. Could have been a more polished service, as both had hair in their face and wearing streetwear with bucket hats, and they didn't really have the communication skills to tell us about the inconvenience so they had to bring in a 3rd person.
The curries were GREAT, tasty and nice spices with yummy chicken but rice serve was quite small as it came in only one box to share, slightly bigger than the container the curries were in. We had a garlic naan and a plain and both naans were plain/no garlic, flavorless and probably not made fresh. Vegetable samosa was okay, I think this was bought too as it didn't look or taste fresh made.
Shame as the curry was good but everything else was just below average.
Great food. Good value. Fast service. Only quibble is that the vegan curry was not available as a deal when ordering online. I hope they'll correct that
Long history of a hospitality spot in Whangarei District, was good to visit and have something different from the usual diet of home. I don't normally eat out, having found enjoyment and quality of life in a majority plant based diet, grown at home, so the chance for a nice Indian dish and naan bread was good. Staff were friendly too
We love Shiraz. Consistently great food.
Instore dining is always a pleasure and the delivery service has helped me out once or ten times!
We had a lunch and the portion of this restaurant was very small and the price was so unreasonable.not a good service as well.we had to ask for cutleries and water again and again. They charged 30 dollar more from us.we were in rush to go back to auckland so could not go back and talk to them about these matters… I will never recommend anyone to go here.
