The receptionist was the rudest person I have ever spoken to. Cut me off, told me to go to white cross even though I am registered with the tikipunga doctors, wouldn’t let me speak. Do not recommend at all. I have never felt so failed. I’m sure every practice is busy but no need to be rude.

Absolutely adore Dr Daniel Unkel. I have seen him for years now and he is always super efficient, effective and compassionate.

Hi I'm loving my g.ps work ethic and empathy, her name is Dr saima Noreen and she's a genius.
I needed a female Dr because I Never work with men as all men are idiots in society.
Dr saima has been awesome and I'll miss her once I move to wellington.

This is my wifes email address. I am giving 5 stars to the GP Daniel Unkel. I have been to him a few times now and he really knows his stuff. Any concerns i have had with my health, even my sore backs, he has sorted. Best doctor i have ever had. Thanks Daniel. Kevin

The absolute most terrible experience ever, over multiple occasions! On the 19th Sept Booked an appointment for the 23rd Sept for my 80yr old father (which was an urgent request from the hospital 19th Sept) then had an in-depth conversation with the social worker on the 20th Sept about residency care for him, she ‘extended’ my appointment to an hour to allow for the assessment to be completed. Got to my appointment doctor only looked at one set of notes from the 15th Sept, blew off every question I asked, didn’t even check my father and just ordered some blood tests (2 of which had already been done) there was no notes left from the social worker just an extended appointment and we were out of there within not even 10mins all whilst his Facebook was open on his computer. Left the appointment and called to request a new appointment and stated my concerns, was passed around 5 different people and told no available appointment until the 4th Oct so I had to take that.was finally called back from the social worker after trying to make contact with her for over a week, for her to completely contradict everything she had last stated in our previous conversation. Requested the managers contact details. 4th Oct I called reception to check what time his appointment was as I had forgotten and surprise surprise there was no appointment for him with the next one available on the 13th Oct - 9days later! Which realistically is 2weeks 6days later from the last failed appointment! Tried calling the manger to just get an answer phone and still waiting to be called back. Absolutely appalling service. Had much more assistance from the district nurses.

Horrible Experience. Firstly the reception staff were rude, talked over me and tried charging me for my appointment TWICE! Then got into John Benton who absolutely roasted me due to being a smoker. Then told me that I was not going to receive same medical help as a non smoker. Discrimination at its finest. I waited over a month for this appointment, I wasn't just disappointed but disgusted. Also when asking for pain killers for a back injury, was told I could not be supplied any due to it being like CRACK and how I would addicted to it. What is the point of heathcare when you leave the doctors in worse condition than when I entered. If you need help, DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE. No wonder mental health is such an issue in this country, no one wants to help young people who DO have issues.

When this place was owned by the local GP's who worked there, it was a very good, well run medical centre.
Now it is owned by a multi corporate "Green Cross Health Medical" who have bought out many of these practices all around NZ. They have become like a franchise. To my knowledge there is only one remaining GP from the old days (Richard Davis) We receive a newsletter via email every 6 months of the changes and updates happening there. Every time, there are doctors leaving and new doctors coming so it's impossible to have one permanent GP like it used to be. They have a very high turn over of staff. A while ago I ended up with Dr John Benton because he was the only GP free to see my son. He started shouting and lecturing me because I had asked about antibiotics for my son. We ended up walking out of his room and made a complaint to reception. Helen Davis (who I normally would see) came and seen me and we had a very good talk. I told her " Of all the years I've been going there, Benton would be the rudest and most arrogant GP I have ever met". Not long after that, Helen left, which was a real shame.
Benton is actually on a list at reception as a GP I refuse to see when I phone up for an appointment. I try to make appointments with Dr Daniel Unkel who is very good but mostly booked up. That's the difference between a good GP and a bad one. The bad ones are always free because no one wants them. Avoid Benton at all cost as shown by other reviewers here. I've tried changing to another medical center but it's impossible to get in because none of them are taking on new patients due to being full up.

I've been a patient here for years. The quality of service and efficiency of the practice is outstanding. Would recommend to anyone asking.

This place is terrible. I tried to get in with tonsillitis, walked in just to see if anyone could see me! I was clearly sick, they told me no I had to pay $80 at white cross, student at the time so couldn’t afford that. My sister then rang up and demanded a appointment for me (bit of a Karen moment) and they suddenly could let me in. The staff at the front are rude and unpleasant and gossip. The worst doctors I have ever been to.

Worst Practice Ive Ever Been In; Disrespectful Doctors who waste your time and charge you for it; long wait times not to mention they will insult you for genuine health concerns. Avoid at all costs.

Although it was hard to get an appointment, the app helps, and the Dr was running about 45min behind I still felt welcome by the reception staff and my Dr still was very attentive and listened to everything I had to say, within 2 days of receiving my prescriptions my issue I went in for was under control and on the mend so happy patient and thank you

Worst doctors i have ever experienced, i have never in my life ever walked out of a Gp's office in tears so many times. Even my own 12 year son was disgusted with our Gps attitude today! Absolutely disgusted! Even laughing in our faces!

I can get an appointment here (for an ear infection) in 16 days time or go and pay $90 at White Cross and be seen today. Who is psychic enough to know they are going to get an ear infection in 16 days time? Their excuse was that it is school holidays. So these kids knew 2 weeks ago they were going to be sick today? Do you really expect me to believe that? Do you honestly believe I am that stupid? Sadly, in a small town like this, all the good doctors have closed their books. Your only choices are White Cross or A&E. BTW - even outside of school holidays you won't get an appointment in less than 2 weeks.

The phone service a joke. I tried to call to check an appointment time, a really simple question to answer, and got I passed around operators between being on hold for seven minutes before being hung up on. My husband then called and got the answer immediately

Worst waits ever, might as well just show up a half hour late. And you will still have to wait. I really can't express how much time you waste waiting. I think my worst was a 50min. Go find somewhere else.

As a self employed tradesman I don't get paid sick days. So when I'm actually sick and want to book in what seems to be only once a year if that. These guys are always booked out because they have taking too many patients on. Always a waste time and money and do not reccomend

My doctor is lovely however I've never been seen within 45 minutes of a scheduled appointment. Time is poor i wouldn't waste your time. You may aswell go to another surgery or 'Whitecross'.
