The Dune

It was very pretty inside and the staff were super friendly.unfortunately the food took well over 40 minutes to come and my pasta was cold.needed heavy salt and pepper for taste, otherwise it wouldve been very bland

We were taken by my daughter & family visiting from Oz for my birthday last Sunday night. Well 3 out of us ordered the fish & chips - the batter was not crisp, the fish had no flavour & tasted like frozen hoki. The chips were not crisp & the coldslaw boring. The 3 hamburgers were ok but not anything out of the ordinary. When I mentioned to the waitress she said she would tell the chef & the manager came over. We told him about the fish & his only explanation was that they do a gluten free batter & it can get a little limp - who wants that! He was not bothered really - you'd have thought they would have noticed the food left on the 3 plates! The bill for 4 adults & 2 kids came to around $250 - will not return.

The food was excellent. We had the fish, venison, pasta with beef cheeks. Atmosphere was nice, both inside and out service was good.

Had an absolutely wonderful dining experience here. Staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive and made my evening very special. Having been made aware of my food allergies they went above and beyond (in my opinion) to ensure my meal worked around them, i am very grateful to all the staff on that night (from kitchen right through to front of house) you are all absolute stars to me, thankyou.

Very disappointed with the manager that was on this afternoon. I took my parents out for a birthday lunch, we received our food and my dish the beef check fettuccine was very bland so we sent it back and asked to get a bowl of fries instead. We then finished the rest of our meals, which we did enjoy. On going up to the counter to pay we were told that there was nothing wrong with the dish and it was ment to taste like that.to which we replied that it lacked any flavor it was just beef and pasta with water? My wife then asked to pay half price for the dish as we only had 2 spoons out of it. To which the Manger replied that they would not do that and there was nothing wrong with it. My wife said that someone should have told us while we were at the table that we would still have to pay for the dish as she would of asked to take it home and add some sauce to it.
We ended up paying full price for a dish we didn't get to eat. I'm very disappointed that the company's reputation doesn't mean more then a few dollars because to us it wasn't about the money it was more that attitude we received from the manager. In saying that we did pay over $200 for our meals and still left a tip due to the other front of house staff.
We will not be back and will not recommend people to go there unfortunately.

We went in a group for Happy Hour. Great service, tasty snacks, and reasonable prices. A good time was had by all, thank you.

Went mid afternoon so the place was quite empty, just coffee, cocktails and a nibble. Awesome spot

This will now be my third visit to the dune and it definitely won’t be the last! Great service coupled up with some amazing food, you couldn’t want for more!

Ideal family fare for our whanau visiting. 6 Children 4 Adults, menu had dishes for all tastes. Delighted all.

Horrible service, one of the waitresses was extremely rude and arrogant, & made us wait long on purpose, we ordered food and was told at least 5 things weren’t available as they had none left. Tables that arrived at least an hour after us, got there food before us. Very petty service from the waitress we had.

Came here for lunch. Most of the menu was unavailable, the few items that were avaliable were bland and unexiting.
Overpriced and underwhelming.

Disappointing considering the price. Chef doesn’t understand the difference between chargrilled and burnt. Food rather ordinary

This is about NUMBER 8 which is part of The Dune. Place is gorgeous. First time there. 6 things on menu not available and unfortunately the food we would have ordered, plus cocktail not mixed so couldn't order that. Then one of the dishes arrived without the condiments which they'd run out of and swimming in oil. So disappointed. Won't be back.

Dined yesterday with a group of six for lunch. The waitress was not helpful, and didn’t seem to know what she was doing. Only had one of the limited gluten free options available. (After I’d already ordered twice & she came back and said no they didn’t have it) and she wasn’t even willing to ask the kitchen if they could do anything else. Would not recommend, the food is ridiculously overpriced for what is really just a pub, pretending to be a restaurant. They serve frozen, battered fish, watery aioli and the service is bad. Now we know why it was empty, on a Sunday at lunchtime. Definitely not worth the prices, especially when the food is not fresh!

We were greeted with a big smile and friendly service right from the moment we arrived. The staff were friendly, polite, knowledgeable and efficient. The best service I have had in a long time. The chicken pasta was great! Highly recommended.

A gem not where you would really expect a gem to be.
Food is high quality, maybe a *little* more expensive than expected but not overly.
Great service and an intimate relaxed vibe that we really enjoyed.

Good vegan options as well as gluten and dairy free.

Take out pizza…margarita, usually pretty good but this is the second one I have picked up (and arrived early to make sure it was fresh and hot) and it’s cold and hard after eating straight after picking up. Chips were hot. At $28 a pizza, it was disappointing.

I am the friend who’s soul was lost after eating the striploin steak. The first bite of the steak sent me into orbit. I had to close my eyes and tilt my head back so my only sense left was taste. The steak itself melted in my mouth, but the jus made my eyes tear up. The last time I cried was the birth of my first son - and I felt more emotional tonight than I did then. My dining companions were guffawing at my behaviour while eating, but I could not hear them as I was literally in heaven. Thank you chef for providing me with the most pleasurable night of my life. Again - better than my honeymoon. If you asked me to choose between eating this for the first time or spending the rest of the life with my husband, I would choose the steak.
