We engaged The Outdoor Room Company to fit a roof over an outside deck / veranda on our 1950's weatherboard house. The end result was extremely satisfying, and the very proficient and friendly staff did a very professional job. The extra space and feature has blended in perfectly, and has made us feel the decision we made choosing this company was well worth while.

From start to finish product all of the team were great to work with and very professional, the installation crew were fantastic always respectful and went out of there way to install (even in the pouring rain). Even though we had a long wait we couldn't be happier with the finished product and cant wait to spend many hours on our newly covered deck.

Brilliant service, the Team worked with us and our specific needs throughout to create a fantastic Outdoor Area.

We are very happy with our blinds and the pergola. We are finally able to use our patio in summer and in winter:) the outdoor room company was efficient and very helpful. They answered all our questions and helped us choose what is best for our home!

I now have the perfect outdoor room! My deck will get far more use, come rain, hail or shine! I'll be sitting out there with my wine! Thanks guys.

Our Journey thus far (we are based in Waikato) :
- September 2022 - First contacted TORC (after seeing a great looking advert online), asking for quote and timing estimate for 2x Ziptrack outdoor blinds, with electric openers. Received a next day response with pricing and a phone conversation re timing ("it should be in before Christmas").
- Late September 2022 - Paid the 50% deposit invoice (a lot of money, but we were excited to get our patio sheltered from wind that was stopping us from using it as much as we'd like), and received a response that installation should be within 3 months (matching the verbal Christmas time-frame), and a promise that a project manager would be in touch with install date.
- October 2022 - Emailed TORC after a week without a time-frame, and received a call back saying that the install would be the first week of January (after the Christmas break). A bit of a delay, and disappointing, as we chose TORC over a competitor based on a better time-frame
- November 2022 - Received a call from TORC saying that they hadn't done electric openers before, and we would need an electrician to assist (a little nervous, but fair enough).
- December 2022 - We organised for an electrician to be available for early Jan install
- Early January 2023 - no advice re install date, so started chasing for an ETA
- Mid January 2023 - After hearing nothing, we chased TORC, and asked if we could cancel our contract.
- Late January 2023 - Received a phone call advising that the deposit would be lost if we cancelled, and that the timeframe had now been pushed out to late February, as there was a shortage of installers.
- 20 February 2023 - Received a call, saying install would be today (22 Feb) 8: 30am. Mad panic finding an electrician who would be available for the install on short notice, booked a local in for 9: 30am
- 22 February 2023 8: 30 - Installers arrived with the blinds, but after 45min, they tell me that the factory got the measurements wrong on a main component ("this has never happened before"). They were very nice guys, and very apologetic, and the install is called off. The sparky arrives shortly after, and I have to turn him away

Caleb and his team did an incredible job installing our outdoor roof. It keeps us cool in the sunshine and provides shade, unlike the acrylic, glass or PVC roofing options. It simultaneously still allows light into the house. High quality at a fair price. The team are friendly and professional. They work efficiently and cleaned up well once done. Communication was excellent. Highly recommend, you are missing a beat if you don't use these guys. We will be back in touch with the team to get the weather proof curtains done ahead of Winter. Joshua and Dan from the Whangarei branch were a pleasure to work with. We had ZipTrak mesh blinds installed in our carport area to replace cheap tarps. Wow, what a big difference! Really impressed with their level of service, their excellent communication, prompt quoting and follow up - and ultimately knowing when install was going to occur. We felt like we were never forgotten about and overall, we have got what we wanted, these blinds have made the world of difference. Very happy and will definitely approach again when we are looking into louvre roof options for a new decking area we'll be building off our relocatable home one day.:)

From initial consultation contact, until job completion today, the whole process was outstanding.
The focused attention to detail to provide our new "outdoor" room was exemplary.
We experienced two massive storms at our exposed Pataua South location with fierce easterly/northerly gales as the new roof was being installed.

Outstanding product! After doing a lot of "homework" on outdoor pergola systems, we decided to go with The Outdoor Room Company due to the quality of their roofs. We picked the "Allure" roof for its solidness (we are on top of a hill and get a lot of strong wind) and architectural look. It has enhanced our outdoor living space 100%, we get so many compliments! The installers Ben and Ritchie were a great to have working onsite, non intrusive but friendly and very professional and took immense pride in their workmanship.

Wow what an awesome experience. Right from our first contact everything was easy and nothing a problem.
