6The views and tranquility are highly recommended. The best part for us was getting to see a 45ish year old Kauri so we knew exactly what to look out for in the drive through the forest afterwards. The road however is very rough. When we visited one road was closed, and the other had a long section of fresh large deep gravel with not really space to change your mind and turn around. If you’re not in a 4WD be careful of your windscreen and tyres. No mobile coverage on any network if you get stuck.
What a gem! A great vantage point to see the forest from above. Make sure your vehicle to handle the long gravel road.
It's okay; you'll have a good view over the forest but it's not a must do in my opinion ;)
Pretty good views, road up there is pretty rough- don’t do it in a campervan or low car. Viewing platform reopened when we visited in Aug 18
It is a bit run down and you can only look through the windows as the outside deck is not safe.
Beautiful party of the country, but this look outs one to miss. Better views from the road in this area over the Tasman sea.
