Arborio Restaurant, Cafe & Bar reviews
63We came to New Plymouth last night, we haven't got previous reservation but fortunately my boyfriend and I got the most lovely experience in this strongly recommended restaurant. Everything was great. Definitely we are coming back.
Amazing service, great cocktails and the best risotto I've ever had. I definitely recommend going.
Awesome food, service is quick and efficient. This place is very popular and sometimes there may be a wait, however for us an extra table was setup.
Eclectic menu, great wine list, knowledgeable staff. Have already recommended Arborio to family and friends.
Just ate here for dinner and it was superb. The delightful bar manager made my a Dirty Vodka Martini and it was the best I’ve had, thanks.
Do yourself a favour and have the Mussels. The soupy sauce is so delicious. (great to dip the bread in). We also shared the trio of dips - each one amazing.
My husbands steak was cooked to perfection.
My chicken main was just as good, but a very big serve.
Thank you ladies for a great evening
Lovely location but it ends there. Staff are rude, food is mediocre, overall a pretty disappointing experience
Our newfavourite restaurant in New Plymouth. The food was deliciously amazing and the service was fantastic. The staff were attentive without making you feel rushed. Will definitely be back next time we are in New Plymouth.
Went with the family and had a great meal with good atmosphere. Great service and friendly staff.
Arborio is a cozy Italian restaurant in New Plymouth, offering a delightful selection of pasta dishes, pizza, and other classic Italian fare. The food is flavorful and well-prepared, and the staff is attentive and friendly. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual dinner with friends or family. Be sure to try the tiramisu for dessert - it's the best in town!
20/02/2023 disappointing it was closed on a Monday, on the website it said it was open but when you go there it has a paper sign on the glass door with the changes. Please update your website, i could've saved some time and given you a higher ranking if i came on an open day.
Arrived in New Plymouth first time here. Came into an almost empty restaurant and asked for a table, waiter asked if I had a booking I said no sorry he looked at me looked around restaurant (" don't know why he was looking around whole place was empty") then looked at me and said sorry we are fully booked people are arriving in about 10minutes I left feeling inferior and ended up eating down the road only to come back after 20 to 30mins to a still empty Arborio. Please do better thank you.
Dine here often and normally enjoy our meals but on Saturday 28th Jan was a little disappointed. We both ordered a risotto. One with prawns one with shedded chicken. The prawn one was perfect but the chicken one was very dry. We also ordered kids chicken nuggets and chips for our granddaughter. The nuggets were way over cooked and not even moist. The child ate the chips but would not even try the nuggets. When a five year old child recognises that the nuggets are not good without even tasting them there is something wrong. I tried one of the nuggets and it was over cooked and very dry.
I am no fan of McDonald’s in fact can’t stand the food there but their chicken nuggets are way better and that’s saying something.
We dined at Aborio last night with a group of friends, very impressed with the food, service and ambiance, I didn’t get our waitresses name (wished I had) she was amazing, she was so great, nothing was a problem. Generous food portions and super tasty, we will be back for sure.
Terrible service - people who arrived well after us received their food well before us - my daughters food didn’t even arrive before the rest of us had finished eating so we cancelled it - very disappointing
Considering this is a museum restaurant we were really impressed. Lovely server and delicious food.
Overrated and overpriced.
$28 Moroccan Lamb pizza with sparse toppings on Sat 21 Jan.
Would love to see some more varied lunch prices, and more lunch options (not everyone needs a full size pasta or burger for lunch!)
We were here on new years eve and for a mates birthday - great food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
My friends and I had just arrived from Auckland. We had read online that Arborio was excellent, a great menu and close to our accomodation. We arrived at around 5.15pm and wanted to have an early dinner. We asked for a table for 4 people (we didnt have a booking), and the waiter/maître d advised us that all the tables were full. We looked around and literally only 5 tables were occupied (inside and outside the restaurant). The waiter also looked around to check again to see so many empty tables (the whole restaurant was empty apart from 5 tables) and proceeded to tell us that all their tables were full right now and could not accomodate us.
We felt very unwelcomed, and I will say we are 4 brown women. This is really disgusting Arborio Restaurant. The fact your staff blantantly turned away 4 paying customers and we were made to feel inferior is not ok in 2023. Best believe we will be telling all our friends and family that come to New Plymouth never to come here! Do better!
Loved the ambiance of the place, in great company. Really enjoyed the food and appreciated the helpfull staff.
Wow!
All meals exceptional. Sea Food Lingueni. Pork Belly. 11/10
Food always consistently great.
