I must admit I was so nervous coming to the urgent care after reading these reviews but wow was my experience different! Starting from reception: I apologise that I didn’t get your name but to the blonde lady…. You’re an absolute legend. I came into the centre in some distress due to renal colic and you were amazing! Not only did you get me sorted paperwork wise but due to being new to town you set me up for a regular gp. You were so kind and comforting I can’t praise you enough! Then to Dr Matthew…. You really looked after me like I was one of your patients. You got me out of pain and then made sure I had everything I needed. You’re funny.empathetic and so straight up! Thank you so much for everything! Can’t recommend them enough. Jody.

Dr forgot to hit send on my Anti Depressants script. Reception told me it was definitely sent to the pharmacy (either a lie or laziness because it wasn’t) which is really awesome since I’m not meant to skip these pills. Called back and forwards being told the same thing until I show my face. And magically once I show up in person it finally gets sent out.

Wondering what would happen to someone if it were something like insulin?

Oh and shout out to the receptionist who laughed at me when I asked why/how this happened.

Well done - so appreciative The Dr's will do house calls for elderly if needed. I am so grateful that my mum gets help. Keep up the good work

New dr was very accommodating and kind. Reception is the first impression of a place and they were wonderful

I wouldn't recommend using this practice. We experienced a breach of privacy and serious negligence by one of the doctors. But I would recommend if you've had a similar experience to contact your lawyer or the Privacy Commissioner/Health and Disability Commissioner who will investigate this practice. We moved to another doctor to prevent this from happening again.

Great doctors. But receptionists are really rude, I get nervous calling them because I know they are just so rude. Need better receptionists.

It wasn’t always that bad but man the administration of care first needs some major revamp. Outdated procedures, and grumpy staff. The actually medical staff varies drastically but my most recent experiences have been way below optimal.

From my personal experience I believe that this practice is failing in their duty of care and failing in due diligence. I saw a doctor, in my car, he said I think you have pneumonia, prescribed antibiotics and sent me on my way. 3 days later I had to rush myself to Medicare because I could not breathe. The prescribed antibiotics were doing nothing. I had been diagnosed by the doctor listening to my lungs. No sputum test. $100 later (I am a pensioner) and 3 hours I had to drive myself and my grandson home when I was in no fit state, after being put on a ventilator so I could breathe. A week ago my grandson complained of very sore ears. He is six, no doctor saw him and a nurse spoke on the phone, no appointment, and said it would get better on its own. Prescribed pain killers. A week later, grandson is still in pain. This is an appalling way to run a medical facility that is supposed to heal the sick

Worst Medical centre in Taranaki. Keep away at all costs. Made my wife sit in a car on a stinking hot day 40 minutes after the appointment time. Wife called me in tears. I hit the roof. Constantly get charged for appointments we did not have. Reception think they are royalty sitting on their thrones and look down on us mere mortals. The places only redeeming feature was a Doctor named Shaun Butler. He left though which means the place has no redeeming features anymore. Plunket sent a referral on behalf of our baby and reception said that they didn't know who our doctor was so they didn't accept it as our old one had left and they had not assigned a new doctor to us. Seriously.

Had to wait 30 minutes ever after the appointment time. No point to book appointments even they can’t stick to the time.

Went to see the nurse today for flu injections and another matter. Didn't have to wait long. My daughter said her flu injection was painless and so was mine. Lovely kind friendly nurse.

I came to Carefirst after getting impatient with a long wait at the hospital and was given absolutely marvellous care by Liz and Lucy. Both of them made me feel totally relaxed leading up to getting stitches for the first time and the entire process was prompt and painless. I couldn’t ask for better

Care Last more like it!
After years of poor care they sent us a letter and moved some of our family to a different doctor in Moturoa. No amount of complaining would help, now half or family has to go elsewhere? That's criminal if you ask me!

Haven't had good experiences with them the doctor's always half a hour late to appointment. They seem uneducated with what to prescribe paitents and a money grabbing business

Constantly messing up appointments and not sending prescriptions to the pharmacy. Rude pushy reception staff, doctors who push the new medications even if you don't want them. They have a new computer system myindici that is rubbish, they won't share results or xrays with you unless you pay for another appointment, they don't update myindici with your appointments. My complaints go on and on.

The care provided by the doctor at Carefirst was to a very poor standard that detrimentally affected my partner's long-term health. Negligent and expensive. Definitely a money grabbing business with little concern for the welfare of their patients. My advice is put your life first and join with another practice that works for their patients.

Lots of new faces in the nurse department. They are very helpful.
My Dr.is very good.sometimes it's hard to get an appointment & when she's away, the fill in Dr s have been ok.

There seems to be a lot of Drs that go through. Not sure why. The walk in clinic rules have changed, not for the better sometimes & the hours of opening has been shortened. I have only had 1 run in With the reception Staff, but that got sorted pretty quick when I complained. A lot of new faces at reception but they have been very pleasant when I have dealt with them.
