Countdown Hawera

As I pick up roadside rubbish around the neighbourhood, my observation is that most of it is single use drinking and food containers. Water bottles, fizzy drink bottles and cans.

As the majority of the rubbish is sold in supermarkets.what is Countdown's plan to reduce roadside rubbish?

Clean, friendly and well stocked. Had everything I needed plus more. Staff will help with all your requirements. Check out back if not on shelf what you require.

Great supermarket. Everything is organised and clean. Plenty of parking spots close to shop.

Staff always friendly and helpful. Was very impressed watching a staff member on checkout helping an elderly lady who couldn’t get her card to work. She was polite, respectful and very kind. Angela you are a gem. I hope management realise what an asset they have in you.

The worst when doing deliveries can't even substitute items that were out of stock when the option has clearly been ticked, also takes 7 to 10 days to receive your refund.

New shop and parking area will help then maybe get on top of the DOQ re purchase comparisons that have just trickled through over the past few years.

I have very high regard for the service I receive from any of the customer service persons at countdown hawera a very friendly and helpful well done in these testing times makes my life so much easier

Nice wide isles very clean.good staff. Only thing I didnt like is the security guard at the door. Telling us if that is your wife she can not come in. Only one person per house hold. So she had to walk in after later.

Unhelpful staff. Very poorly run covid requirements process. Staff had very little idea. When a suggestion was made how it could work better 2 staff were pretty rude.

At one point it was great to shop but it seems that whomever is looking after the long life products doesn't have the love for FMCG they should. Messy/empty shelves, stock in the wrong place, missing tickets and incorrect pricing frustrate. A little bit of attention goes a long way, time to maybe start or monitor what is actually happening in store.

Quick and easy for online order pickups. Friendly staff nice and chatty if ur a people person to.

No soap in the toilets, i opened it and it's quite obvious there hasn't been any in days. No sanitiser in the pump at th check out. Sort it out!

More of a supermarket for people who just want one or two odd things.not really for people who like bulk buy.other then that great store friendly service.

Nice fairly new store. Clean and well laid out. Vegetables and fruit a whole lot fresher than Hawera Pak n Save. I never used to check my dockets now it's a must both countdown and Pak n Save have overcharged on numerous occasions. Awhile ago I bought fish from CD and was overcharged by
$15.70, theyrefunded me the money but it's a hassle. Always swipe your onecard as often specials are not loaded onto the till properly. Not the checkout operators fault. Pak n Save win they overcharged me $20. They also have problems loading all their specials. Check your dockets we pay enough for food. All in all CD is my preferred store.

Bit of a slow checkout operator, but the supermarket has a lovely layout. Not much fruit today however, unless you want all the expensive summer fruit.

Nice and friendly staff always willing to help you find what you are looking for. Aways clean and tidy yes recommend them.

Wow! The new Countdown is a joy. I can't even remember what the old building was like.but then it was a while ago since I was in Hawera. Had everything I needed an more.

Countdown is clean, well-lit and has fantastic produce. It can tend towards the expensive side.
