Beaaautiful place, I recommend a 4x4 and chains for the wheels just in case if your going up on a Chilli or rainy day in the cold seasons. You can get a car up there but be careful, slow and steady wins the race with that road.

Taranaki maunga, so beautiful, so eerie, so fresh. Fun to play in the snow although the track from the tunnel to the valley turns to mush very fast with the snow melt, waterproof boots a must at this time of year!

It’s not a big ski field. But enough space for all especially for those visiting on weekends. The climb to the ski field is bit tedious though (if you need to carry too many gear). Always check the weather forecast and information from the base visitor centre before climbing.

A great spot for some sledding with the kids or skiing/snowboarding.when there is snow!

30 minute walk up to the field though and track can be quite wet, so bring good waterproof footwear.

Hiking Mt Taranaki was a hot and humid experience with spectacular views in all directions.

We walked up as far as the goods lift. It was a beautiful day and you could see all of Taranaki

Such a beautiful spot. The walk up took awhile for my 2 year old but they loved being up above the bush line.

Nice mountain view. Access must be challenging as part of the track is not completely clear. It's a small ski field if you compare to the National Park.

An amazing place to get engrossed with nature. For skiing depends on weather. I couldn't find skiing. Also wanted to go top of the mountain. Had to come back half way down as there was no way and nobody to assist. Looking for a skiing group/ trekking group in Taranaki

5 star crew running this little place, scenery is and if you got the skills the top tow on a good day is unbeatable

Great access to the North and East ridges of Mt Taranaki. Shelter is a great place to get organized for the mission!
