NPMMA know what’s up! Super friendly and chill as environment; but equally important they are super knowledgeable when it comes to all things Jiu-Jitsu/MMA. Highly recommended if you live in the area or just visiting.

New Plymouth MMA Studio - so much more than just an awesome gym - all the instructors are highly knowledgeable and experienced, there are a range of martial arts classes including Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling and MMA. Facilities are outstanding, clothing and equipment is available to purchase. In addition, the culture of this gym is absolutely outstanding - it's like a family. Never experienced such a good vibe! If you want to learn a martial art and get super fit in the process then give these guys a call!

Dropped in to no gi class and open mat while passing through town. Awesome class lead by Rhys, patient and technical. Really welcoming group with some good fun rolls in the open mat too. Super clean facilities

My 12 year old daughter has joined the kids Jiu Jitsu class at NPMMA and I am super impressed about the professionalism and inclusivity of all kids, even the newbies with no experience. Rhys is great with the kids and really makes them feel comfortable and confident to try new things. The gym is clean and tidy and a really inviting place to be. The wonderful owner, Jesse, even stops for a chat and offers a coffee while you wait for your kids to train, how cool is that!

Today I attended a women’s self defence class at New Plymouth MMA. I was pretty uncertain about coming along to this as I was worried it would be a bit too “hands on” (and I am very protective of my personal space) but our head coach, Rhys, made me feel super comfortable and safe.

I learned a LOT and had a great time. Rhys’s way of explaining things was very clear and relatable to real life which I found super insightful and useful.

I feel like this could help a lot of women gain more confidence while moving through the word. If you’re thinking about trying it out but an MMA gym sounds a little scary. It’s not. Give it a try. Assistant coach Lee-Anne will also make you feel right at home. What a great place for women to learn self defence and build confidence.

Quality facilities, recognized high level coaches with a warm encouraging atmosphere. Anyone would feel safe walking in to NPMMA studio regardless of their experience level or lack there of. First class!

Went a long for the trial and the crew were amazing. Being completely out of my comfort zone they were attentive and helped ease me into an introduction to MMA. Would 10/5 recommend
