Snappers Fish and Chips reviews
42Ordered crumbled fish of the day, (warehou), it was awful. Dry and inedible. Definitely will not be coming back here.
Extremely disappointed after reading “22 Best Things To in New Plymouth - grab your fish and chips from Snapper’s” - crumbed fish was awful - very dry - ended up throwing it out - would not recommend
I can't believe how cheap Snapper's fish burgers are. They are so incredibly delicious and massive that you can just buy 2 and be sorted for dinner. By far my favourite fish and chips.
Having been here once before and liked the fish, I was very disappointed. The fish was thin over cooked and tough.
Best fish and chips we have found in New Plymouth, generous portions and nicely cooked.
Staff member was friendly and prompt.
Recommend going somewhere else if your trying to get the most out of your money.
Paid for 7.50$ for garlic butter chips
The amount was less then enough to feed 1 kid, the garlic butter wasn’t even garlic butter was just garlic paste put in the centre with the smallest amount of butter you could imagine.
Donuts were burnt yet undercooked.deep fried mars bars were still raw
The batter still had flour that wasn’t mixed in properly on the inside.
Tried once definitely wont be going back
We really enjoyed our fish n chips crispy light batter super fresh gurnard, crispy squid rings, generous serving of yummy chips
Reasonably priced. Outside of the shop could do with a tidy up.
Nice chips. Average overall experience. I guess it depends how hungry you are.
My favourite fish and chips place in New Plymouth. Always get good tasting and quality food from them.
Love this place. Food is great! I can be a bit picky with fish but at snappers, it is so good!
Nice and inviting shop, with friendly staff and can't forget I am happy to see they aren't stingy with quantity like many places are
Lovely pieces of battered gurnard and nice chips. Had the shrimp chow main one night as well which was good but could have done with more veggies.
One of the good fish and chips place in town. The batter was tasty and the fish felt fresh. No after effects always tick a place as a good fish and chips place in my book. Just head over to east end beach and enjoy your takeaway with the sound of the sea.
Fish was cooked well but the chips were hard, undercooked. I know it’s only a short 10 min wait but I would rather wait for fully cooked food than under
Chips are delicious & fish of the day is cooked to perfection must have with garlic sauce, would definitely order from here again, no oil on the paper says it all
Ordered grilled gurnard. Looked good but the smell was not one of fresh fish. Will not go there again.
The staff member that served me was polite and friendly. The fish was crispy and chips were delicious. Will defintely visit next time I'm in town.
Friendly informed service. A very pleasant waiting area with comfy sofas and real wood chairs. Lots of space. Late afternoon sun streaming in.
Awful experience, ‘scoop’ of chips which I got told by the people working there are for 2 people, barely fed just me! Could not even fill up one person, overpriced, and not a lot of food! Utter disgrace.
(Battered saverloy had a weird taste to)
I ordered snapper which tasted old and the batter was watery. The chips are frozen and squishy when cooked rather than crispy. Overall too expensive and very disappointing.
