SPCA New Plymouth Centre reviews
10 Love these ladies, love fostering, here's to many more years Xx
My first foster fails Prudence and Tuppence, yet to find out if I have a limit
I had the most amazing customer service from Monique! She’s very helpful and good at her job!
We love our new kitten from the SPCA New Plymouth. The staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful.
I took my children to the Center on Colson Road Thursday afternoon to look at kittens for adoption. We passed up the young ones at the entrance as knew they would easily be adopted plus they cost $200 whereas the older kittens were $125. After much debate the kids picked a tabby kitten. We informed the frosty girl on reception that we had made our choice and she came down to read his microchip. It was then we realised his price was $200! This seemed somewhat extravagant and I asked why he would be more than all the others. Her reply was that he was still considered to be a “kitten”. She stated there was nothing she could do and his price was firm. However, if we were to return in a week his price would have dropped because he would then be 5 months old! She said she couldn’t guarantee he would still be there though. My husband is a Vet and we only decided to get a kitten at the SPCA to support them. She was rude, surly and didn’t smile once. We left without a kitten because our Vet practice always has stray kittens available and I thought $200 was an extravagant price to pay. The cattery was FULL! We would have given that kitten the perfect home. Disgusted in their attitude!
Staff are friendly. However I had organized a visit to view 2 animals and was informed 1 had been rehomed by the person who had been double booked onto my appointment. Would have like to have been informed prior and thought it was rude and disorganized. I also thought they would meet all the people they had organized a meet and greet with, before they decided on the best home. Nevermind we adopted a chicken and Speckle is free range and loving life.
Worked there for around 8wks.love love love the animals. But unfortunately very poorly organised.
I have gotten all my cats from here and they are all living an amazing long life and the people were so friendly and you can tell the animals are being cared for incredibly well. Thank you SPCA for saving animals lives and giving them a second chance!
Clean, friendly, tidy, helpful and not overcrowded with pets. The best SPCA I have visited by far. Even bought a couple of wee kittens in the process. Top place and a wonderful charity to support. I dont mind giving these guys my money for all their hard work and volunteering. Great cause.
Brilliant experience. Such nice staff that helped us find the perfect little kitty! Thanks SPCA
Worthy organisation to adopt pets from. The staff don't really seem interested. Probably underfunded.
