Eyebright The Country Store

Fascinating store beautifully laid out focussing on homewares but also had women’s clothing and jewellery.

If you think this would be a good place to visit with your kid then change your mind! Not only did the shop-keeper lectured us right after entering the store of their payment policy if our kid accidentally breaks something but she also came directly over to us after 20min of browsing to tell us (quote) : „just a general information: this is not a playground for kids, we have so many problems with children in here! “. Our son was with us the whole time and was very gentle and respectful with the display, there was no reason at all. We were polite and tried to brighten her bad mood but then immediately left. Actually my two year old son pointed at the door and said „please out! “.
Oh and if you only come for the Guinea pig area: there is a sign „free food in the store“ but when we asked for it the kid-hating staff charged us $2 for about five small pieces of carrot.

I can’t wait for the new owners and hopefully the new staff.

Lots to look at but the Guinea pig village is a must see. This is particularly true if you have children or grandchildren. Lovely garden and ice blocks etc to buy. Food to buy for Guinea pigs is well worth it. They do tricks to reward you. Well if you are small.
Place in lovely Easter things and autumn colours.

No trip to Nelson is complete without a visit to the Eyebright Country Store, the Christmas shop is amazing and the store has a wonderful selection of crafts and specialty items. Lots of gifts for babies and children. Super cute nursery items too! For a small entry free you can go and look at the Guinea Pigs in their little village. So cute and adorable. There is also a coffee shop selling food and beverages. What a perfect place to unwind and spend some time in the glorious gardens.

Lots of Christmas bits and bobs and plenty of homeware to choose from. Gorgeous garden and cute guinea pigs in their own little village of houses for children and adults alike to enjoy feeding. Good outing for young family.

Have been here 3 times in the past 2 weeks! I like this place a lot! Can you tell!? Haha. The Guinea Pig town is super cute for kids and there are so many Christmas decorations to choose from! Highly recommend going between October and January for that holiday vibe

This is a great place to visit.
Lots of Xmas decorations to choose from, Great range of costume Jewelry, a collection of georgus linnen clothing, although not a clothing store.
A wonderful selection of georgus smell's for you and the room. And more.
Enjoy the visit takes me a while to check everything out.

Fantastic store with some awesome gifts. Huge barn of interesting items from yarn to jewellery to home decorations, etc, and the prices were reasonable - beautiful NZ necklaces under $30! - with very friendly and welcoming staff. The bonus was the gorgeous gardens outside and the wonderful guinea pig village! Only $2 for adults to visit the piggie village and you get a free container of guinea pig treats to feed them! The piggies come running for the carrot, and it's just a delight to see them running around with plenty of cute hides in the shape of a village (bank, school, church, etc!) for them to enjoy. Highly recommend!

Great variety of products especially if you are wanting to purchase an extra special gift. The Christmas stock available all year is beautiful.

Went in for one thing came out with four. The shop looks lovely at the moment. The staff were very helpful. It has the best wool selection I have seen in a long time. A great place for the special gift for someone special.

Wow, beautiful shop. They had another amazing Christmas display this year, well worth a visit and make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to look around.

Never have I seen such an incredible array of realistic looking fake flowers! Absolutely mind blowing!
So many beautiful items here, from jewellery to clothing, homewares and decor. There is something for everyone! Can't wait to go back again!
